I’ve been trying to get this set for over a year when it came out, but it was always sold out online, and my nearest LEGO store also kept telling me it’s not in stock. However, eventually I got it, and I love it big time. I really don’t understand all the 1-2 star reviews. As a big Back to the future and LEGO fan, this piece is one of my absolute favorite in my humble collection. I hope for more of those iconic movie sets, because it just looks great next to my Ghostbuster Ecto 1 ;-)

I purchased this set during a family vacation to LEGOLAND in Florida. I’ve been a fan of the movies since I was a child and when I saw this set I had to get it. Building it was a blast. Seeing the car come together with each bag was truly rewarding.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Amazing set

I built this set in just 8 hours! I was reading reviews saying, “this is a super fragile” or, “I want a refund!!!” But these reviews are wrong. I’m only ten and I only started building a few months ago, but, I played with this set for a month and still do! I sometimes for no reason take the doors off and it’s easy to put them back on. My adhd brain can somehow make this. I am amazed how people can’t make a set right and might want some money from Lego but please buy this. This is a top buy. The only downside I had was 1, just 1 missing piece. Please buy this it is a 10/10 and a good add to your collection!

The closest thing to LEGO perfection

Quite possibly one of if not THE best lego set released in recent years, I knew this set was going to be good, but did not expect it to blow me away like it did.
First off, the proportions are wonderfully done, unlike the 2013 version it does not feel chunky at all, nothing feels out of place.
Second off, the lines on this thing are PHENOMANAL the Delorean itself is extremely sleek and angled and is hard to get right in Lego, where the 2013 version looked blocky and thrown together, this version uses lego bricks to their finest, making everything function as it should while not sacrificing the appearance. Lego has come a long way in recent years. And this model proves that.
Now we should talk about the features themselves, the doors, hood, and wheels work fantastic. Though the doors may not stay open, that can easily be fixed with a single piece to prop it open, another thing I noticed is that not all wheels sit flat when in flying mode. But this is hardly noticeable. And the Flux Capacitor light brick is a well-executed and unexpected feature that is well hidden and works nicely.
Then we have the movie versions. Converting the model to other movie counterparts does not take too long, even reversing the headlight bricks on the hood and changing the wheel rims for the third movie version is not too much of a hassle. the only time consuming part is installing the Mr. Fusion. But that's also very minor.
One thing that is missing though is the train wheels for the 1885 version of this car, several people on youtube have created versions that look great. But I'm not too disappointed that this wasn't a feature.
One thing that is odd though is I cannot figure out how to change license plates without taking portions apart. But that is not too much of a problem either.
And no matter which movie variant you choose, they all look fantastic!

One complaint I could have about the car is that the center console between seats has exposed studs, but this is not a big deal, as actual delorean's have a sort of cloth covering on the center console that I supposed that represents. There is also a small hole that is barely visible underneath some of the rear components. But that is barely noticeable.
This set also includes a hover board which looks magnificent and a plutonium container. However I would've liked a larger plutonium container with more convincing plutonium containment cylinders. But that is a very minor nitpick.
As for mini figures and stand, this is the only area that is lacking. The display plaque itself could've been made to look like the floating road signs in BTTF 2 and the choice to use young Han's face for Marty even though Marty already has a convincing face printing is confusing. Marty's hair could've also been swapped for Han's to be more movie accurate.
Another thing I would have appreciated was to include all three of their movie counterparts.

With this set, the accuracy and overall beauty of this set far outweigh the teeny, tiny, nitpicky issues.
Keep it up LEGO, I am very impressed.

Gorgeous Model & Fun Build

This model has got to be one of my favorites out of the 15 adult LEGO sets I have! Great time building this complex model, 3 different versions of the car as seen in the BTTF trilogy, a light block, and impressive display, especially with lights!

I got this gift as a Christmas gift from my parents and I gotta say it’s the best thing ever! I had so much fun building it along with some Light My Bricks lights and an electronic lazy Susan lol
It looks so amazing and as a young builder who loves building giant Lego sets it’s the best one I have built so far! Would recommend to any who loves the movies, collecting, and iconic Lego sets

Good Build, but Poor Quality Control

I had no issues with the building, or even the stylings of the Delorean but I had an issue with a lot of missing pieces, which kinda ruined the building experience for me. I was missing a total of 5 pieces, plus the flux capacitor sticker, which was a first for me to have a set that was missing any pieces. I've built dozens of sets over my lifetime and have never had an issue with missing pieces, so it was the first time. Granted, Lego was great at shipping out the pieces I requested, but it added two weeks to my build as I'd find out if I was missing pieces as I went along, not to mention I have to disassemble it now to put on the flux capacitor sticker.
All in all, cool build and does a huge service to the films with all three versions you can modify your Time Machine as, but the quality control was what I had an issue with, which just sort of ruined the fun of the build for ma, as I'd go up to a week waiting for a piece or two, and just taking the fun out of building, turning it into a waiting game of "When will it get here so I can finally build/finish my set?"
