LEGO has done it again!
on April 6, 2022

Every time Lego releases a new set, I look at it and every ounce of the Lego lover inside of me says “get it, we must have it.” Time and time again I say, “no, I must be strong.” Most of the time I win, but occasionally A set like the DeLorean comes out and I am unable to resist the temptation to purchase it. The set itself is filled with interesting and recognizable details from its angled hood to its brilliant brick built flux capacitor. The lack of steering is a little sad but the hover mode function more than makes up for that. The doors also won’t stay open which is unfortunate. In my opinion the only thing missing is instructions to build a normal Delorean. In conclusion this set looks good, is reasonably priced and has some fun functions, so do yourself a favor and buy the Dorian, you can thank me later. :)
I would recommend this to a friend!

Breathe on it and it falls apart

There is nothing on this car that is solid so when you get to pieces that have prongs forget it everything is going to fall apart. I do not need to hear something isn’t put together right, something isn’t designed right.

Fell apart

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is one of the coolest sets but fell apart the second I got close to finishing it. That is a huge disappointment and happens with all Lego sets I get.

That's not the building experience we want for our fans with any of our sets! If you're still having trouble keeping the set together, give us a shout at LEGO.build/Service-BV so we can take a look with you!

Worst Build Ever
on November 10, 2023

I rarely write poor reviews of products. So, for me to take the time to write this speaks to how poorly I feel the build was constructed and sold. I have built roughly 15 Lego sets over the past 5 years, including Technic Sets (Lamborghini Sian, BMW M 1000 RR, Peugeot Hypercar, Ferrari Daytona SP3, Bugatti, and others) as well as other sets including the Voltron, Friends and Seinfeld Sets, World Map, and others. This is by far the most unenjoyable and frustrating build I’ve ever done. Many pieces (>10) were missing, including the entire sticker panel. Many steps would have been much easier to complete had they been ordered differently. On many steps, when attempting to connect pieces other pieces would fall off due to the fragility of the entire set. This resulted in way more frustration than enjoyment. Typically, I display all my builds, but with the incompleteness of this finished product and the inability to display the accompanying informational sheet (because of the missing stickers), I will more than likely put this in a box to never be viewed again. When attempting to request the missing stickers, I learned that the website states “if you don’t see the stickers listed, we might not have them available”. Thanks Lego. I strongly debated returning it, but at this point, I just want to forget the whole experience. I want my next build to be the massive Titanic, but after this experience, I may have to just step away from Lego for a while. Better design, better quality control, and more effort should have been put into this set.

Look But Don't Touch
on December 22, 2022

I gave it two stars for looks alone. It was one of the most frustrating sets I have ever built. At times, I felt like I needed E.T. fingers to put it together. The order of some of the steps did not make sense and I found myself reverse building it at times in order to make it easier for myself. The doors do not operate properly. You have to use something to push the seats towards the windshield in order to close the doors. A lot of the pieces are not attached very well. Overall, the set has very little strength. If your intention is simply to put it on display, you may not be disappointed; however, even with that, I suspect you may need a few cans of lacquer to keep it together because I fear a breath may be all it takes to wither this set back to its individual pieces. The designer needs a course in remedial brick building.

Cluttered design, poor final appearance.

If you are looking to for another great LEGO car to add to your collection of James Bond’s Astin Martin, or the the Camero, or the Mustang, THIS IS NOT YOUR CAR! The back to the future kit was, for me, a disaster. Over a dozen missing parts sent me constantly into my personal 36000+ piece LEGO vault. Poor design fit that was vIsible in the plans and uglyfied the fInal look. Too much creative license was given, that the end product appeared to be an afterthought.
