I’m such a huge fan of the trilogy. This was one of my favorite builds yet. I have two and trying to decide if I want to buy the last one so I have each version. We need an Einstein mini fig.

The best set I have ever gotten

I got this set almost a year ago and I absolutely LOVE IT. It was a very fun build, though it took longer than it probably would have had I not been opening presents at the same time :) . Lego's design was perfect in every way, and I would 100% recommend it to any BTTF fan.

The moment I saw this advertised I bought it! I actually felt it was quite a challenging build, but only because it was so detailed. I loved the iconic aspects coming together to create this beautiful replica. Also enjoyed the little snippets of behind the scenes info scattered throughout the manual.
As others have mentioned, the lovely gull-wing doors are too heavy to stay open by themselves, which would have been nice to display with one open… but it’s a minor gripe as the overall build was probably one of the best I’ve done and always makes me smile when I look at it.

Fun, unique building methods

I thought the was this set was built was really cool and there were some pretty interesting and unique ways to build parts of this car which I found really fun. The mechanism to flip the wheels into hover mode was really solid and the interior of the car is really nice. My only issues here were that the doors that open up vertically were super cool but they do not stay up which was a bummer. I also with that the exterior color had been printed in more of that chrome/shiny grey rather than the standard light grey to reflect more what this car actually looks like. Also, the stand for the hover display mode is just 4 1x2 translucent bricks that fall off pretty easy. Something just slightly more sturdy would have been nice for display. Overall, very fun to build and cool details.

This is a must have for Back to the future fans and collectors alike. Very enjoyable building experience…. It’s great that you can choose which model you like to build (original film or sequel’s) and the model has nice features. The mechanism to retrieve wheels to fly mode is insane. The lighting of the capacitor added a wow factor. The Time Machine looks amazing in display. The mini figures look amazing, nice touch printing iconic sneakers to the side of the legs. I’m very happy with this purchase and totally recommend this set.

Sentimental Set

Like so many in my generation, Back to the Future was a big part of my childhood and holds a special place in my heart so I have been waiting for this set since it was announced. Like Ecto-1, the Delorean has transcended time as a movie and automobile classic as evidenced by this awesome set by Lego almost 40 years later. The set was about a 9 hour build without too many challenging sections. No wonky fits or weak assemblies. With the 3 options, it was well worth the price of the set and it's relatively simple to switch between the versions so you can change up your display. A light brick illuminates the flux capacitor and the mechanics to convert it to flying II version are so clever. Any fan of the Back to the Future franchise will love this set. Any Lego fan will love this set. Any Gen X B2F AFOLs will be over moon with this set.

Missing parts

was missing parts from two different bags, that means I has to wait over two weeks to finish the build. Years ago Lego sets were never missing parts, this is the second of three sets that I have bought in 2023, all were missing a piece or more. LEGO needs to have a part replacement factory in the United States! My biggest complaint about the completed car is that the gull wing doors do not stay open.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
