Adult collector... This is really good set IMO.

I was skeptical at first. Seen this for a few months prior to me purchasing. I thought it looked cool, but refused to buy cuz of the 8+ rating. Then, Lightyear came to Disney plus. I saw the original toy story when I was growing up and that was that. Saw the trailer and it peaked my interest. My coz told me they were subtle references to other toy story films, but only seeing the first one, the references completely flew over my head. Anyway, I enjoyed the movie and right after credits rolled, I purchased this set, lol.
It’s a really nice and compact build and there’s really no bad angles to it. The angles of the wings and engines line up so precisely. The colour selection is also really cool. It’s instantly recognizable once u see the film. Only thing I dislike are the stickers, however they add a lot of detail. Also, the price ain’t bad! I’d recommend getting it. If you’re on the fence, watch the movie and it’ll be enough to convince you to buy it.

So much fun!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love legos at our house and have a great time putting sets together as a family. This past weekend we put this one together and it was great! I always appreciate how detailed the instructions are and that each part comes in it's own separate bag. Moving step by step makes you really appreciate the final product! We loved seeing Buzz's spaceship come to life and the characters are perfect!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This spaceship is a perfect size to sit on my sons dresser. He gets to look at his hard work daily and remind himself. He didn’t struggle much putting it together which was great. (9 year old). Legos are a great way to build confidence and help your child grow their fine motor skills.

When concept, design, and finished product align

TLDR-Just buy it.
When I branch out from my favorite themes as an adult collector, I want something that is interesting from either an overall design or building perspective. This little gem fulfilled both those requirements. At a glance, the XL-15 may seem like just a reasonably priced, small/medium sized, single-pilot spacecraft, and that is indeed a simple and accurate description of the model. However, this description does not do the design team any justice.
1-The minifigures-Having three unique minifigures (and Sox!) feels just right. The details on Buzz, Mo, and Darby’s suits make them a worthy addition to any collection. Additionally, you get an alternate head and hair piece for Buzz, which feels like a deluxe feature.
2-The build-I won’t spoil the finer details of the build because everyone deserves a chance to experience them. From start to finish, it is a joy. It is predominantly a system-based build with a touch of technic for connection purposes (and creating the stand if you so choose). Nothing is wasted here. The geometry and part usage are brilliant. Stickers are not relied upon for all the details and can be left off, but they do enhance the look of the finished product.
3-Playability-I’m not the best judge for this since the craft is a display piece for me. However, the ship’s connecting point to the optional stand is internal, so there are no pieces hanging from the bottom of the ship. This detail increases the amount of playability tremendously. The ship feels very sturdy when detached, so swooshability is very much in the cards for any child who has this.
4-Overall impression- For me, this set is perfect. Yes, there is a misprint on (I believe) page 64 in the instructions regarding the sticker being used. When that sort of minor issue is the only critique I can aim at a set, I know I have something special. This set feels like a deluxe amount of content in a budget package. You won’t regret your purchase. I know I certainly do not, and I intend to buy another before it retires. My thanks goes out to the design team for creating this perfect LEGO experience.

Spaceship Turned Out to be Really Cool!

Takes about 1-3 hours and definitely kept the kids occupy! So many pieces and some that you were able to interchange and put your favorite!
