This set is something special. I've been recovering from surgery and building sets: the 3 star wars dioramas, 2 botanicals, and a few small ones, and they're all fantastic 5 stars. However this is a step above.
The details are amazing. Not just the tallneck either. The Alloy minifig is great. I love the focus printed on the head. The hair not only has a hole for it but a clear element around the hole to add to the effect. The printing on the arms and legs is great.
The base is also great. Depending on how you count, there's at least 4 different plants including a great tree. The rusted traffic light is the perfect touch. If you don't like the clear lights, use the red, yellow, and blue dots from the sentry and chalk the discoloration to age.
The sentry is fine but not great. They could have left it out and I wouldn't have cared though.
The only real downside is the tallneck can move but isn't really reposable. If you plan on playing for hours, plan on holding it up the whole time. Mine will just stay awesome connected to the base.

Fun and challenging!

Literally a Perfect Set

As an avid Horizon gaming fan, I have anticipated the release of this set since rumors started in 2021. Let me tell you it does not disappoint. The unique variations in building. Multi directional surfaces. The small details of the base. Not to mention how fun and enjoyable the build was. Highly, highly recommend whether you're a fan of the gaming franchise or not!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received our Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck Ages 18+ Lego set all 1222 pieces..My son is a fan and tjis became a mission..lol He claimed he even gave up golf for a week due to wanting to finish it after work days...He said to tell you all its fun LEGO build and made a great display piece. He is a fan of Horizon but did recommend it to all ....even if you don’t know the games. It’s one of the best LEGO sets I’ve ever built and hopes for more like in the future. He is 22 and has totally enjoyed this build..He said the detail is amazing an being able to change the eye color is wicked sweet...lol (his words) But I can say he worked many a night working on this mission...and we as family highly recommend Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck by Legos..Oh I should mention its has included a step by step booklets inside...truly amazing...

What a delivery! Not only did this set drop while simultaneously being able to play Forbidden West, it is absolutely incredible. I did not play around with snatching one of these on launch day knowing the popularity. Some of the pieces are so unique in this set and the base where the Tallneck stands truly gives me the lush nature feel of the game. Despite 1000 plus pieces the build was quick. The Aloy mini figure is brilliant and the included watcher is a slippery slope. I've found my self duplicating the build to have a set of machines. The pure joy is playing with my sons who have watched me play the video game and now are building their own machines as we play with this new set. Thank you Lego. I can't wait for more to come.

This was my first ever Lego kit, and it was way more fun than I was expecting (and they were pretty high to begin with). The accuracy to the in game tallneck is quite good.

Nice set for Horizon fans!

This set has a really nice design and was fun to build. I noticed a back piece would not stay on no matter what I did so I had to add a couple of the extra 1x1s in order to get it to stay on. I am fairly certain that I didn't miss a step but it's always a possibility. The Tallneck itself leans a bit to one side and the front plates of the legs fall off very easily. It's a beautiful little display piece and a great gift for anyone who loves LEGO and the Horizon games. I would love to see more Horizon sets and a larger and more complicated Tallneck in the future!

We're sorry you're having some trouble keeping the set together. If your set ever seems like it's not very sturdy, the best thing to do is double-check your build. Sometimes there may be a piece just a little off from where it should be. You'll also want to make sure that all the pieces are pressed firmly together.
