Here's the problem: I was forced to buy a second one because the first one that I had own for a couple of years, I lost at Disney World. Not the worst problem to have, and I replaced it with another water bottle during my trip, but they simple don't sell ceramic coated thermoses willy nilly like this. I repurchased almost as soon as I got home as this is my secondary thermos that I carry around with my, the first being a stainless steel bottle for water, and the Carter for everything in between. Water, tea, coffee, hot chocolate. The flavor never lingers, so I just use it for whatever I need it for, and the size of it was perfect to bring to Disney and not feel like I was lugging something around... until I lost it : (
Also, I originally bought this in a set with the straw lid and still have that, I love using it during the warmer months when I want a cold drink.
This is the only thermos that not only have I gifted to someone else, but I have repurchased.
It also comes in lilac, one of my favorite colors : )

Unexpectedly Perfect: My Go-To Daily Mug

I’m loving my 16oz Carter Move in Hazy Blue. The aroma-splash guard is genius! It keeps tea/coffee where it belongs without blocking the scent, which is half the pleasure for me. Heat retention is excellent, it feels solid in my hand, and it’s already part of my daily routine. I’m also loving the size — it fits my hand well. I wasn’t sure if I’d like the screw-on lid without the carry handle, but I do. I don’t feel like I’m going to drop the mug, and it doesn’t take much torque to open the lid. This is my first ceramic-coated mug, and I’m amazed by how much better my drinks taste compared to stainless steel brands. Fellow for the win!

Beautiful cup and efficient leak proof however the moment that I received the cup and opened it, the paint started to fade away. Looks like very poor quality. Won't be returning it because I live in Europe and it'll take 2 months to return it and receive another one back so not worth the pain on my side.

The inside coating spilt at the seams after use

My mug came with a defect where the coating was not sealed properly inside the mug close to the seams. The replacement came quickly which was great. BUT after using it for a month the seal completely separated around the whole enitre seam near the bottom inside of the mug. I'm afraid to use it now because don't want to ingest any of the coating that could come off. Now especially after California designated pfoa as forever chemicals, I feel I made the wrong choice for my body and for the environment by buying this coated product. I gave it 2 stars because the mug does look cool and fits nice in the hand and wanted to acknowledge at least that.

Holds on to smells and flavors

The ceramic coating holds on to aroma and flavors worse than anything else I’ve ever had. The mug always as an unpleasant smell no matter how I clean it. Stale , old coffee. Coffee leaves a residual smell that even with rinsing will not go away. It’s not the lid either as I hardly use. You can see a brown film that builds up on the ceramic coating after every use and doesn’t go away after rinsing. I can wipe my finger on the ceramic coating and see the color change in the brown film thats built up. The film will come off with hot soap and water, but then next time I use it the mug tastes like that soap. As soon as the soap flavor goes away, it’s back to smelly, stale coffee. Very disappointed seeing as this was supposed to be the specialty of this mug; to be neutral and not hang on to flavors/aromas.

Stylish and effective design, but too difficult to clean and maintain

I've had the carter move for over a month now and give it a 3/5 overall. Pros: it keeps my coffee hot, looks stylish, is slim/easy to carry, and the design of the mouth makes it drinking enjoyable. Cons: despite being advertised on the web a dishwasher safe the included care instructions say handwash only to prevent discolouration of the coating. This would be fine (albeit very annoying) except the design of the cup (small opening) and lid make it incredibly difficult and almost impossible to properly wash by hand. I had been drawn in by the dishwasher safe feature and, while I assume it is indeed safe, having the threat that the coating will be discoloured if I use that feature ultimately makes this product one I would not purchase again or recommend to others.

It’s a pretty thermos, and the size is perfect for my single espresso shot lattes. Unfortunately after just two weeks it got a nick and a strange white spot on it. Mind you, I mostly use this thermos at home to keep my drink hot since I work from home, I’m not taking it on any wild adventures. Drink will stay hot for like an hour!

Bought because I wanted a water tight container for iced coffee to bring to work. First day it leaked coffee all over my bag. Tried testing by filling up with water and shaking it in my hand and again it immediately began weeping from one side no matter how I tightened the lid. I liked the size and shape but leaking defeats the whole purpose, so I won't be using it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
