Great TV. Dead Pixels.

This was the second projector I've used from LG (first was a PF1500). I like the unit a lot.
Just like with the PF1500, at less than a year the unit began displaying a dead pixel. I'm rather tired of LG projectors that last less than a year. I wish there was a viable solution and an actual guarantee of quality.

Not built to last

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall the image looks great except for the sparkle with red colors. My main problem is... it wasn't built to last at all. Within a year, pixels started to die, so I sent it back in to get fixed. Now it's glitching and cutting to black randomly. I've only owned it 3 years, and it's crapping out. I've had tv's for nearly a decade and this thing has been a problem since I got it.

Hey Jon, we want you to enjoy your LG Home Theater CineBeam Projector without any interruptions. Here are some steps for a flawless screening experience:
1. Check Connections: Make sure all cables are securely connected to the projector and the source device. 2. Restart the Projector: Turn off the projector, unplug it for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. 3. Update Firmware: Check for any available firmware updates for your projector and install them if needed. 4. Test with a Different Source: Try connecting a different device to the projector to see if the issue persists. This will help determine if the problem is with the projector or the original source device. 5. Adjust Settings: Go to the projector settings and reset to factory defaults to eliminate any configuration issues.

Nice until the dead pixels started

Super frustrating that a low hour usage product that is 2 years old (out of warranty) starts showing up with dead pixels... the distraction of the dead pixels makes the video unwatchable. No repair options as far as I can tell.
Head to avsforum and search for "Official LG CineBeam HU810PW/AU810PB Projector Owners Thread" if you want to learn more.
LG should be embarrassed by the quality of this product and the lack of reasonable service options (repair costs are more than a new unit)

Dead pixel

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Owned this projector for about 3 years when a dead pixel appeared. Looks like this is a very common problem for this unit. Would think twice about buying a LG laser projector.

3+ years, > 5700 hours, still like new!

I have used this projector for several years now. I love everything about it.
Annoying things they have not fixed yet:
LG Channels are not available, I have them on my 80+inch screen but for some reason they will not update the WebOS on the projector to support LG Channels.
Projector depth is not supported by most wall mount projector shelfs. You need a bookcase with about 18" depth or a ceiling mount. I'd upgrade if the projector became about 12" deep.

My projector has developed 5 white hot spots that are very distracting. It is used in my theater room and so it does not even get used a lot. Very disappointing.
