Absolutely great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a casual movie watcher and just really enjoy picture quality of this projector. Night and day difference coming from optoma hd26. As other reviews pointed out blacks could be better but not in this price range. Still highly watchable just tweak the iris for darker room.

Lack of support and major issues with HDR
on January 19, 2022

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This projector has been out for nearly a year and has yet to receive a firmware update. There are a number of issues that could easily be addressed by an update (24p handling, audio lag, crushed dark details for HDR content, overly blue picture out of the box). I needed to buy an expensive Blu ray player with HDR optimization capabilities to make my 4k HDR discs watchable.
Additionally my unit came with a lens defect that needed repair services leaving me with an empty home theater for an extended period of time.
The zoom and lens shift mechanisms are clunky at best.
This projector could be good, possibly great IF LG chose to support it and listen to their customers. Will not be purchasing from LG in the future.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Would be great, if they can fix some issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This projector is bright, colorful, and has tons of apps.
Unfortunately, my unit has numerous problems, including not having even focus, and a lens shift that seems to be completely messed up (if I go off LG's specs).
I suspect that my issues are early build complications, and once LG gets this ironed out this will be an amazing unit, especially for the price.

I purchased this projector a year ago. Image quality is great but dark scenes can be hard to make out. I have heard people calibrating it to get even better image but I am not that kind of consumer. Even though this a smart projector you will need a secondary device to get all the streaming services. For sound you’ll definitely need a sound bar. Built-in speakers are underwhelming. The good thing is it can pass through Dolby Atmos and other high resolution audio from connected HDMI devices. Image project can be quite tricky to just get right because of manual focus and positioning. I often have to adjust the position or the focus because of temperature changes in the projector cause the Len shifts Just enough to lose focus or misalign with the projector screen. Despite some of these issues this projector has been a great experience. The main problem with this projector is LG refuses/neglected to update the firmware. Even after year it’s running on the web OS 5 while newer less expensive projectors are running on webOS 6. Also there are few other issues that keep people have complained about that could be fixed with firmware upgrade just take a look at AVForum. If anybody from LG is reading this please support this product.

Beautiful picture!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am using this projector on an old 120” Severtson grey screen (0.95 gain, I believe) in a very well light-controlled room. This projector really shines (pun intended), particularly with bright/colorful content. Watching Mulan in 4K was stunning. It really was like having a 120” LCD monitor on the wall! There are many options to tweak the settings to your preferences. I have few gripes with this projector. The shadow detail is slightly lacking in dark scenes.I am using max lens shift for my placement and it seems to cause some focus uniformity issues in the corners which is fairly mild. By the way, the manual controls, particularly the focus lever could use a redesign as they are clunky and difficult to make precise adjustments with.
Still with such a stunning image I can easily forgive a few minor shortcomings.
Tremendous overall value!

Incredible quality! Easy to use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just received my LG HU810PW and the image quality is incredible! My home theater room is still under construction, so I tested the projector on my bedroom wall and the image quality is already over my expectation. I can't wait to see it on a dedicated screen. I also love the connectivity with Disney+ and Prime... very easy to use. It would be nice to also have a direct access to Netflix, which is available on my LG smart TV. No clue why it is not available on this projector. Overall, very satisfy with the product!

Dead pixel… otherwise great…
on April 7, 2023
Posted by: snell_ra
Dead pixel after only 700 hours, literally 1 month after the 1-year warranty expired. I would expect video issues after 15,000-20,000 hours.
The picture is wonderful, but I am extremely disappointed by this.

Dead pixel after 1yr

Had to have unit shipped in for consecutive years for dead pixels. 2nd time the unit was not repaired, but given a pro rated refund. For the money that was spent for the initial purchase it is beyond disappointing.
