So far so good

The Instinct 2 has been great so far. I've used the golf, walk and indoor cycle settings so far and they all seem pretty accurate. Plus, I only have to charge it every 10 days or so.

Best Garmin watch for everyday/every-week use will last 10 days and longer with solar charging outside in the sun. I use this watch everyday and it handles everything I throw at it. The build is tough will handle hard work and easy living. Recessed face which is very hard to scratch. There is a new 2s which has color but I would say you can just go with the black and white one as that is fine for notifications and use.

Great GPS, Like my Whoop better for other data

I got this watch to help me track my rucks and wanted the safety feature of allowing others to track me when in the woods alone. I love it for the GPS and some of the other features (weather, steps, etc). I don't love the body battery or the sleep tracker. My Whoop strap seems to provide more/better insight here, so I'm continuing to wear both. The watch is comfortable and I wouldn't trade it for another - just have to keep wearing the Whoop with it!

Love this watch

I've had this watch 3 weeks now and absolutely love it. I use it to track steps and other body metrics every day, as well as hikes and hunts I've gone on. The activity tracking feature works very well, and it is nice to see where I've been on the map later.
My only complaint and it is minor, is I thought the Solar would charge better than it does. I am optimistic to see how it does once we get into summer and the exposure increases.

Tons of Features

This watch was given to me as a gift by a friend. I like how you can track any activity, sync it with my inreach and you can customize your power consumption. As a backpacking instructor smart watches seemed like a liability if they lost their charge and you are stuck for days or weeks on end with out a watch. I treat it as a safety item. So the fact that I can charge with solar was really appealing. It works and holds a charge for a 50 day backpacking trip on low power mode. As a women the watch itself is a little too big and fits awkwardly under long sleeve clothes. I had a really big learning curve to overcome because of all the features it has and the manual that comes with it does not have that much information at all. The website is not the most helpful unless you know exactly what you are looking for. I spent many hours on youtube learning about how to program it and use it and I still find new features with it every day. That's why I have only given it 4 stars. The app is easy enough to use and ability to complete challenges and earn badges has kept me active and in shape in the off season. I have never had a problem syncing my watch to the app unlike fitbits I have had in the past. This is a keeper and I'm glad that I have it.

3-Year Buy
on November 26, 2021

I've worn this watch every day for a little over three years. It's a great tool. The solar charging capability is really great if you're outside on the job a lot. My battery has lasted for up to a month with decent sun exposure over a couple of weeks. Very durable and pretty lightweight. One issue I have with the watch is that the battery drains extremely fast when PulseOx is on (only lasted 3 days), and I think it should run longer if needed. If you don't need to monitor your blood oxygen you can turn this feature off. Two of my colleges and I purchased this watch at the same time, and we are all at a point where we have either replaced them or need replacements. Garmin does a refurbish exchange program for a fee. One of my colleagues sent his watch in for a swap two months ago and hasn't received a replacement yet. I am hesitant about sending mine in. Overall it's a good watch, but I expected it to last longer knowing Garmin's durability standards.
