The watch has a lot of functionality from a tracking perspective.. The print however is extremely small and it is not nearly as easy to use as an iWatch.

Feature Rich & Excellent Battery life

I LOVE this watch, I picked it up 9 months ago and have worn it every day since. It has helped me train for my half marathons, track my gym work outs and motivate me to get my steps in every day. It pairs to the connect app where it displays all your info, sleep score, steps, body battery, HR, VHR, etc. and I only need to charge it once every 2-3 weeks. Previously I had an Apple Watch which needed to be charged about once a day...
The only con this watch has is it is so feature rich it takes some time to learn out to use them all. I probably spent 1-2 hours watching tutorials on YouTube and still don't know every thing.

Only watch I will ever use

I was looking for a smart watch that I could just receive texts, calls, track activities etc. Nothing super fancy, didn't need to text with it, call, have a walkie talkie, all that and I needed the battery to last, I don't enjoy having to charge my watch every night, and definitely needed it to be waterproof.
This watch is perfect the person who wants a quality active watch and doesent want to have all the bells and whistles of an apple or samsung watch. The battery lasts on average for me, without any power saving an average of 2 to 2 and a half weeks. It does everything I want (look at the product description to see what it does and does not have), and is a quality built, good looking, comfortable watch.
Highly recommended.

Functions for every day, and every sport. long battery life. Biking heart rate miles, skiing in a resort vert. ect. But the best is for mountaineering, it does it all.

Added the solar feature and it makes the world of difference when I forget to charge. Love Garmin's watch lines.

Great Product with worse screen clarity than previous version

I loved my Instinct 1 (non-solar version). The screen was very easy to read and the functions fulfilled my hiking, strength training, and MTB needs. When backpacking, the GPS module would shorten battery life to about 9 hours max from full charge. I needed something with more battery. The Instinct 2 seems to have more battery and promises to recharge with sunlight. While I haven't tested an 8-hour GPS non-stop usage, the battery seems to last longer in daily use. Still have to get a true test. But the big downturn right out of the box is the clarity of the display. With the exception of full sunlight, where there is no difference from the previous model, in any other light conditions in very noticeable. Dimmer and fuzzier reading. Other features are a great improvement such as more character lines in the notifications, more functions and a more accurate heart rate sensor.

Quality smart watch that can take a beating

I've used this watch to find my phone in a thicket of briars, tells me all I need to know and has the long battery life with it solar capabilities (especially if you don't constantly monitor your O2 levels). Had the version 1 for years, enjoying the upgrade.
