Looks good and lots of features

After some recommendations from my doctors, I decided to get a smart watch with an activity monitor of some sort. I looked at the well regarded options on the market and settled on this one. It's still the dead of winter in upstate NY, so I'm not outdoors as much as I will be come spring, but I really like this so far. It can measure my pulse and heart rate, blood pressure and steps walked every day. I'm really pleased with it. If you never used a watch like this, you should download the online user guide to get more details of what you can do and how to maneuver through the settings (the quick guide doesn't help as much). Like other such watches, it's not a big screen, but you get used to it. I would absolutely buy this again.

Excellent Fitness Watch

After setting it up and learning what the different watch buttons do, then it’s a piece of cake to get going. You press the gps button, and with the more sophisticated GPS, it connects in a couple of seconds. Then press the GPS button again and you have the preselected activities. In my case it’s walking or biking. . Press again to start and you’re on your way. It starts measuring when you take your first step or first movement on the bik. When you’re done, press GPS and it asks you if you want to,save your results. Then open the Garmin Connect App, and the data is immediately downloaded into the App. I use an IPad. Now I can see the map of my of my workout route and all my statistics. It’s a great motivator for doing your walk or exercise. And the list of activities is huge.

Great Purchase

I have previously owned four cheap Vivosmart watches in the past 4-5 years to count steps and a good Casio solar watch on my other wrist for other features. This watch replaces both and syncs easier to the Garmin app on my phone than the Vivosmart model. Youtube was helpful for explaining how to use the controls to get the most out of the watch. The Instinct 2X solar model has a flashlight feature that was not worth the price difference. The old Vivosmart watches needed to be charged daily, while the Casio solar watch needed sufficient sunlight that was often lacking during the winter months. I conservatively charge this watch for an hour or two every two weeks just to keep the reserve charge high. I also like the charge status feature that the other two watches lacked. I swim laps daily and this watch gives me great feedback.

It is a great watch.
Accuracy is very high.
Solar charging is not very useful as the watch is wore at mostly covered places or underneath the shirt sleeves.
However that feature is to be explored further

This is a great watch. It has some of the smart watch features, yet is a great outdoorsman watch. It's one of the more accurate watches for gps features. I appreciate it is light-weight and you don't really feel it on your wrist.

I received my Instinct 2 Solar as a gift, and I could not be more pleased with this product.
Because my birthday was three weeks ago, I am still getting used to all of the superb features of this excellent watch. I have been a Garmin customer for many years and as is always, Garmin products are just simply excellent with amazing functionality.

Great watch

I wanted to update my wife’s forerunner 35 with the forerunner 255 and stumbled across the instinct. I bought this for myself to track running and hiking. I work outside so I like the simple rugged look. This is my first smart watch and I love it. I’d had it for a few weeks and haven’t taken it off. The battery is great and the smart watch features are really useful.

Got this as a replacement for a Fitbit. To me there was far too many buttons to push and remember where things were and no better health monitoring than what is on a standard Fitbit. I was not impressed. Seems like an old Timex Ironman knockoff. No color screen, not as much analytics I could use without purchasing another app. Sorry to say I am returning this for a Fitbit Versa which by the way is way cheaper. Not a fan.
