Christmas gift to replace an old Apple Watch, avid hiker and back packer who's primary frustration with Apple was my battery always ran out on longer hikes. Biggest advantage of the Garmin is the battery life. It rocks it to compared the apple further it provides richer statistics. That phone interface is quite good. Gap is that the screen (display) isn't as nice as the Apple Watch. That said Garmin offers the color option; however, imagine if has the same battery challenges. It's also a bit hard to get up to speed on the with all the features. You Tube has been great! fantastic product

Amazing Battery Life

I have only been able to use the basic functions (no notifications) and fitness mode. With these going every day, I have only charged once day after Christmas and it’s still has 5 days left of battery (1/10/24). I can’t wait for spring to test this watch with my bikepacking trips coming up.

Not what I expected.

Compared to other Garmin products, I am not pleased. The alpha dog handler and gps units are great, but the watch is not user friendly. The screen is hard to see and the features are not easily accessible. Battery life is good, which I like. I definitely would have purchased a different unit had I known what I do now.

I got this about 3 weeks ago and it was very easy to figure out all the functions. The watch is tough, but looks great! The battery is awesome, I charged it the first time and then just let the solar do it's thing.
