I'm loving this watch. It definitely does the job and more for a runner or athlete in general. I love the long battery life, the size and fit and the color as well. But the best part is that it works for anyone fitness minded. It's great for a novice and beyond because it has so many things that it monitors and offers. I'm very happy with my purchase and would totally recommend to others.

It does what I want: functions as a watch with GPS capability. HRM has been surprisingly accurate during tracked activities. I don't utilize many 'connected' features, but it's a great watch and tracks well. Battery life is great, though time will tell if the solar aspect is worth the $$.

Die hard gshock fan but had a hard time finding a fitness watch with good tide function w/Casio. This Garmin model fits the bill with its simple screen, accurate tide graph, rugged minimalist design and super functional sensor. Only downside is it drains my phone battery a bit but the fitness data it collects is amazing and worth the hit. The band on the s model is more ladies fit and short for my average wrist so I changed it out for a 21mm seiko monster rubber diver band. Really like that it has an original design and not the ubiquitous square iwatch that is overplayed. Great for all levels beginner to expert.

The watch is great, does everything I need it to do. I find that the gps can be buggy at times and takes a while to get a check mark. Also the solar doesn't seem to do that much for the battery. I would still recommend as it is a good watch.

So good, but...

Im really enjoying the time using my Instinct 2s Solar. Training and wellness never had been so intuitive and attractive; the metrics, the gps signal, all have been extremely successful. But there's a really big problem and is the time that takes to upload a finished activity and also, the time that takes to open a past activity, i have waited up to 30s to open a 40k trail run. I would enjoy that this will be fixed in future updates

Great for my first smart watch. This thing does so much its almost overwhelming. I've taken to just learning maybe one a week. The battery life is pretty amazing as well. I work indoors and still get 2 or 3 weeks out of a charge. My eyes are getting older and I can read the watch face without my reading glasses, which is nice. It is lightweight and I barely notice I am wearing it.
If you dont need full blown maps or a color display the Instinct 2 is a great watch.

I’ve had this watch for about a month. I bought the Instinct 2 Solar S with the smaller wrist band. Glad I did.
Recommend reading the “ manual “ Some features like how to start measuring distance while snowshoeing aren’t intuitive to me at least.
