Quiet, cool

This freezer has maintained its temperature in our garage during temperatures in the low 90s. I chose it in part because of the "garage ready" description. I like the fact that it has both a power-on and a temperature warning light, which reduces the chance of losing your food should the power go off. Since it's in the garage I installed a remote temperature alarm, which is how I know it has stayed between -3 and 0 degrees during our recent heat wave. There were many less expensive chest freezers I could have bought, but I chose to spend a little more and get a GE rather than buying some brand I had never heard of, especially with our past experience with GE products.

Nice size

I was looking for a smaller size than this 9 cu.ft. size but I'm happy that it was available. I'm grateful that it has an indicator light because I can't hear it running. Started filling it the next day after purchase and was happy with it keeping the temp below 10 degrees. If I'm not going in it every other day (garden season), the temp will stay around -4 or -5 degrees. I haven't notice any changes in the electric bill but this is the height of summertime so it's hard to gauge. If you have the space don't settle for a smaller size! I filled this one rather quickly.

Working great

This was the perfect size chest freezer to stock up on some frozen items. So far, everything is working great. I'm very pleased with my purchase. The only thing that I wish were different would be for the electrical cable to come out the back of the freezer, as opposed to the right side. The placement of the cord is just a little odd. It also would have been nice to have 3 hanging baskets included, instead of just 2.

Perfect size for a family of 2

We buy meat on the hoof and this will easily hold a quarter to a half of beef plus veggies from my garden.

Great small freezer

Just the size we were looking, like the two baskets that came with the freezer. We bought three additional baskets to sit across the bottom of the freezer. This makes looking for items much easier. this freezer was bought to supplement an upright freezer.
