Everything looked good for the first 6 weeks until it stopped holding temp, thawed out all of our food, spoiling it in the process. Looking at some of the other reviews, it seems like this is a pattern with this product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very satisfied with our new GE carport freezer. Also, love the fact that it has an LED light that comes on when you open the lid.

So far no problem freezes well. Good size. Easy to organize because I add bins. I like also that it’s manual defrost. My upright freezer is automatic defrost and ice crystals form on food even when vacuum sealed. Wish GE would start making manual defrost upright freezers again

garage freezer chest

This a good product. I did have to adjust the freezer to a colder temperature than factory setting to get below freezing. This product doesn't have adjustable feet, which would be helpful as my garage floor is uneven.
