We just received this mid size chest freezer to day. Really like the looks of the freezer and like the size. We have had a stand up GE freezer for 2 years and love it.

Can't comment on the chest freezer that was just delivered, but...
Previously owned a GE chest freezer for 22 years with NO issues, actually donated it to habitat because it was still freezing well (had some cosmetic issues with cracked edges of plastic inside lid). Also had an appliance repairman out for another appliance and anticipating replacing my chest freezer asked his opinion of what brand he considered the best. "GE"
So...because of all of the above I chose to replace my GE chest freezer with another GE.
I am a little disappointed with the depth and width of the hanging baskets.

Although I just received this appliance yesterday, My husband and I are in love! It is spacious, it does an excellent job keeping food frozen and ice cubes coming! We couldn't be happier with our purchase! Thank you GE for a great product!

Plugged it in and it is happily refrigerating. the true test will happen when PG&E stages their next blackout.
