Garage ready and protective temp. dial

I chose the FCM111RWW because it was Better insulated (garage ready) and the temperature inverted dial and is the perfect size for my panty I would of liked to go with the next size up but it was just a few inches too wide :( and a better deal for the cubic feet. I liked the idea they are insulated better then other freezers and 'Garage Ready' That's the only way to go even if you plan to use them inside your house incase you have a outage. Also with this GE i like the protective inverted temp. dial because you have to use a quarter or flat head screwdriver to put in the slot to change the temperature i like that better than a dial sticking out so it doesn't accidently get bumped or changed. Great peace of mind when my freezer is filled to the top with meat. I just received my chest freezer and so far so good getting nice and cold very fast and quiet. It did come with damage to the lid /door but i called in about that and they offered to replace it for free and free service to install. Also mine didn't come with the inside baskets so i had to call GE and they are shipping them out in 5 days so very happy about the short eta time on that. The light inside the lid by design doesn't light on the far left side and it's not as bright as i had wished. I do wish the outside front power indicator light on/off light was located towards the top of the unit maybe in the future they could change that design. First GE chest freezer so i hope is lasts over 18 years like my other brand did they don't sell in the US anymore so I chose to give GE a try

Great insulation and temperature recessed dial

I chose this GE model FCM11SRWW chest freezer because of it being better insulated (garage rated) even though I'm using it in the house. With a freezer full of meat it's the only way to go incase there is a outage. I also like the option of the recessed temperature control . The recessed dial is better because it cant get mistakenly bumped or turned so this is a great piece of mind to protect my frozen meats. I do wish the temperature dial and indicator light were located towards the top front of the chest instead of very bottom right so you could see it better if you have something in front to the freezer you cant see it. The temp. dial is easy to turn with a flat head screw driver or a quarter. The inside lid/door light doesn't light on the left side by design and isn't as bright as i wished. This size fits perfect in my pantry i wanted the next size up but was just a few inches too wide but that would have been the better value per cubic feet. I plugged it in and it got cold very very fast and is quiet which is a plus is you plan to have it inside your home. Mine arrived with a damage lid and missing the inside baskets. GE is taking care of the lid and the baskets and ETA is 5 days on the baskets so that's great customer service. I hope this lasts over 18 years like my other brand. They don't sell my old brand in the US anymore so i decide to give GE a try
