only a day old ,so far hit temp 23 degrees within hours tons of room

Bought a 7 cu ft chest freezer in Dec of 2012. It is a great freezer and it still running great!!! We needed more freezer space so decided to stick with GE. Always been satisfied with GE products!! Thank You for making quality products that last. Would have given a five star rating but when we opened the box we noticed that the vent on the side had a big dent in it. We are keeping the product, but it was disappointing to get a new product with a dent in it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good Garage Freezer

The freezer does exactly what it's supposed to do, however I wouldn't put things in the baskets on top... they seem to get freezer burned quicker. I had a loaf of bread and when I pulled it out the top part was extra hard from freezer burn and it had only been in the freezer for about a month. It does develop frost quicker than other freezers I've had in the past.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not very cold for storing fish

As described except the lowest achieved temperature is -1.7F, generally between+2.5Fand +5.7F. Not acceptable for a chest freezer that I was told should achieve -10F
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This freezer and many of our other models are effectively designed to operate between -5 degrees F and 5 degrees F. Also, in order to get the accurate temperature reading and not the air temperature. We recommend placing the thermometer between two packages of food.

As senior citizens, we have downsized on our freezer capacity. The 10.7 ft.³ chest freezer from GE is awesome thank you General Electric for a great product.

Smaller chest freezer, perfect size

I was replacing an older, larger freezer. This one is a good fit for my needs. I like the aluminum inside and the two small racks. The led light gives plenty of lighting.
