I hate bulky phone cases, but if you drop the phone - you have to protect it. I was resistant to purchase an Otterbox just because theyre known to be pretty thick, but decided to get one and was surpised it wasn't as big. I got the mint colors and love it, very understated and neutral. Love the feature of the charger area, keeps it protected when you aren't using it.

Second purchase and I love it. It’s durable and not to bulky. I have a two year old that loves to grab my phone and as much as she grabs it, she drops it also. Knowing I have it secured with my case, makes me feel relieved.

Wouldn't have an iPhone without an Otter Box case.

This is my second Otter Box cover. First was on an iPhone 6 and now on my iPhone 8. Without a case, these iPhones are too slippery and difficult to handle safely. The Commuter Series is both tough to handle most all bumps and slight drops, plus it's attractive and will stay in your pocket without slipping out.

The case is a good case but can be a little slippery to handle due to the rigid case finish and tends to slide easily on smooth bench tops tables. Maybe look at integrating sections of the flexible grippier section through the rigid part of the case to correct this issue.

My recent purchase of the i8 prompted me to replace an OtterBox case that had previously served me well. With the Defender, I really never doubted that my i5S would survive a fall. Now, with the Commuter, that fear is more real. I must add, however, that the touch sensitivity on the latter OB product is better, to the extent that I can use a stylus again.
It is a trade-off; one that I am happy to explore.
