I loved my old Otterbox which was a different model, and had more grip to the surface. If you need grip, the Commuter model's not for you. But this is sleek and goes well in pocket and purse. I did have a strangely hard time assembling this onto my phone, not so much with the old grippier Otterbox. Maybe this is less "stretchy" or maybe I'm just uncoordinated.
