I have had the case for about three weeks and have dropped the phone several times without hurting anything (one nick on the case, which is better than on the phone).
The color is good, and it is grippy enough that it doesn’t slide in my hand but smooth enough that it will still slide into my pocket, when it fits.
I don’t think the phone/case need to be smaller, but women pockets should be bigger.

This is probably my fourth or fifth commuter series case and they never let me down. I am always rushing around with my phone in my hand, at work, to and from the car, on the subway .. and I've dropped it on concrete or asphalt many times. The case does the job and I've never had a broken screen or scratch on my phone. I just got a new phone and refused to activate it until I got my Otterbox in the mail. That's how critical it is!

Excellent case, but logo doesn't line up w/window

I've had Otterbox cases for years now, and used them hard. A story I like to tell about my old Defender case is that I was sitting on top of a Boeing 737 changing out a VHF antenna and my phone slid out of my pocket and fell to the ground. For reference, that's a long dang way. It was somehow just fine, and I kept using it for four more years.
These days, working in an office requires the less-beefy Commuter case, and this is my second one. They're light, tough and add some necessary depth and grip to the too-thin phone so my dumb gorilla hands can actually hold it.
My only gripe is that Apple moved the logo on the iPhone SE, so now the little round vanity window on the back just shows a bare patch of glass. I don't care too much, but if you're into showing off, take that under advisement.
Anyhow, A+++++ would drop off airplane again.

I will not buy any different case for my phones. I once drove over my daughter’s phone that was protected with an otter box. Slight scratch to phone and case - that’s it! However, when I bought my new case for the new SE, the hole for the Apple logo is not in correct place.

Keep in mind, that case is totally compatible with Amplify or Alpha Glass if you're looking to add an extra level of protection to your device.
