I bought the commuter series case instead of the defender series case because I like the fact that it is slimmer and does not cover the front of the phone like the defender does. It has the grippy edge in the most strategic places and fits in my purse pocket a lot easier than the defender case did. This is a great case for someone who does not need the added protection of the defender case. A great happy medium!

I had an Otterbox Commuter Series for my last iPhone 5C and loved it so there was no question as to the cover that I would get for my iPhone 7. Love the color (teal) and most of all the ease of attaching it to my phone; first placing the phone in the rubberized outer cover, then placing the plastic-like back/side cover over it. Fits perfectly with little effort in attaching it. Be sure to place the rubber cover on first and the hard case will slip right over it. Don’t forget to pull the little tab through the hard case before attaching it so that you can easily open for charging. Otherwise, it may get caught under the hard cover and will not be able to open. This cover makes handling a slick phone so much safer and I dropped my other phone twice and neither the phone or cover cracked. Love Otterbox!

This is my third OtterBox case. The second for this phone. My poor phone gets dropped by mistake, picked up by our dog, etc. I noticed a tiny crack in the case the other day and decided to replace after two years. My phone is in great shape and I know it will continue to be as long as Otter Box is on the job! The commuter is low profile enough the slide into the pouch on my running shorts but protects my phone like nothing else!
