This is a very nice grill, somewhat over priced but if it lasts as long as my first Weber it will be worth it. The only issue I have is that the side burner ignitor does not work. I did receive a new ignitor kit but after installing it the side burner still did not light. The side burner electrode does not spark. I have not had the time to call back Weber technical support, I plan on doing that this week.
This is my second Weber Genesis. First one I had for over 20 years , I probably could have held on to it a few more years. I was happy to get a brand new one with some new features like the searing zone, side burner and switched to natural gas.
This was a definite upgrade to our previous grill. I LOVE the drippings tray that you can easily clean, the quality of the materials, the quick warm up, and the side storage. The only thing I wish it had was side storage on both sides and that the hooks for utensils were slimmer. They are too wide to hold my utensils - I ended up using magnetic hooks below the side tray.
I always enjoyed our Weber grills in the past. This one is taking a little getting used to. Compared to our last Genesis grill, this one has a larger footprint, but has a smaller side burner. The direction of the burners run front to back instead of across. This limits my ability to use a larger roasting pan, because I now need all of the burners on, instead of just the back and front, but not the middle. It is a small point but I wanted to let you know. Aside from these, the grill is very nice, especially with the "Sear" feature. Having the burner knobs on the front panel instead of the right-side deck makes a big difference while using a platter. I hope to get another 15 years out of this grill like we did with the last one!
I replaced my 25 year old Wilmington grill with the Genisis S-335 primarily due to wind tolerance but this grill has won me over. Only problem is with the plastic wrap that will NOT come off of grill. Looks terrible but cooks great.
Great BBQ for Temperature Control...a little concerned about top grill rusting...Time will tell. Side burner took for ever to boil a pot of water? Not sure what chain with a clip is for? Best BBQ I've ever owned though.... :)
