Quality BBQ

Good quality BBQ, as always. One disappointment though. My BBQ is out in the open. No wall behind it. That large gap/ opening between the BBQ and cabinet in the back is an eye sore. The gaps on the side tables to the BBQ are too big, tools and supplies fall though them and end up in the under cabinet. My last one did not have the issue. Other than that it is a great purchase.

I love Weber products, and my new Genesis S335 is no exception. The one thing I really didn’t believe was well designed, is the propane hook inside the cabinet. It’s quite difficult to hang a full 20# propane tank while down on my knees, trying to work through the small cabinet door. Apparently, the engineers never had their 70 year old parents test that design? I miss my outside propane hook from my Summit 450LP.
Additionally, I would have liked to have seen the outside hooks for holding the grill racks while using accessories be able to hold both grill racks instead of just the rack that is removed for the crafted accessories. This would be especially necessary when removing both racks while using the Weber full size griddle. Also, an outside storage area, or hooks along the back of the grill to store the full size griddle, and a deeper tray for the grease management system.
I do love how it cooks, as in every type of Weber grill I have used, it just does what it is supposed to do . My Summit 450LP lasted 20 years, and the new Genesis S335 looks as equally well built.

This is my third Weber Grill one charcoal and the second gas. E-335 is outstanding especially the grill attachment that helps cook the best fajitas. Having the side storage compartment organizes the whole outdoor cooking experience.

Rusted Downgrade from my 2011 Genesis

What a huge disappointment this grill has been. I bought my first Weber Genesis in the beginning of 2011. We grill about 3 times a week, year round, so it's gotten a lot of good use, and has served us well. At almost 13 years old, it needed quite a few parts replaced, including all the burners, the starter, and flame shields. The interior of the cabinet, was also quite rusted, but it was holding the frame together well.
Instead of rebuilding the old grill, with as much as we grill, we decided to get a new Weber Genesis. Ugh! What a mistake. The parts are significantly thinner, and lighter than our 2011 Genesis, but I hoped that it would be okay, and the quality was still there. After spending 5 hours putting it together, I realized the flimsy door was out of alignment. Weber sent me a replacement door.
Then, as I was installing a grill light, on the handle, I not noticed the the lid was missing enamel, right on the edge. So, Weber sent me a new lid. While replacing the lid, I noticed that the "stainless" steel side tables, and control panel, had rust colored marks all over it. I couldn't believe my eyes.
The whole reason why I purchased a "new" grill, is because I didn't feel like rebuilding our old grill, when it might only have a few years left. Well, here I am, with my "new" grill, rebuilding it, again, and again, because ALL of the parts are substandard. At this rate, I'd be surprised it this grill lasted 5 years, instead of the 15 that Weber grills used to be known for.
Our grill is kept under our lanai, which is closed on 3 sides. It's rolled out, when in use, and rolled back under, after it cools down. The wheels are nicer, and easier to roll on the pavers, and as a new grill, it grills nicely, but likely any new grill will do that, even if they rust out in 12 months. For that reason, I gave it 2 stars. If the grill continues to degrade, I'll update my review accordingly, if they'll let me.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you for your feedback and for being a long-time Weber griller. We stand by the quality of our products and we expect them to be long-lasting. We are sorry for the disappointing surface rust as well as for the enamel damage you experienced.

Your grill Owner's Guide has information for keeping your grill in great condition, with special guidance relating to coastal grills. Cleaning the exterior stainless steel surfaces regularly and treating them with a rust inhibitor should remove surface rust as shown in your photos.

We are here to help provide further assistance! Please look for our email outreach soon. Thank you!

Even heat, enough to reach 600F in 8-10 minutes. It's easy to use, almost easy to clean, and sturdy. I'll not deduct any start, but it would be really nice to have a little bigger wheels to move around easily.
Searing is so easy. Cooks fast and even. I got a 4 burner model, now wish that I should have went for 5 burner one for extra $200.
