Solid grill, outstanding customer support!

I purchased this grill to replace my old gas Weber grill (which was still working great but showing its age). This grill came with very detailed step by step instructions (when using the Built app); it does take some time to assemble so bring your patience. It was well packaged and no items were damaged; however, there is a protective film on some of the stainless parts which was trimmed by a machine, but mine was slightly cut too deep and there are lines in the stainless steel from the cutting process. It’s not a big deal and I am probably the only person who notices it. I have had the grill for a few months and it’s worked as expected without any surprises. I did have some questions which I sent to Weber and their customer service was very quick to respond (same day or next day). Overall I’m very satisfied with the grill. The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 stars was there’s a plastic red bezel behind the knobs which is translucent and it has a backlight to illuminate it, but only on certain models (not this one). I would have preferred the bezel not be translucent if this grill can’t light it up. It just looks like it’s missing something or that there’s a part of the grill not working. Also note that there is only the digital temperature gauge on this model.

Bought this Genesis grill to replace a 13 year old Summit grill. Didn't even look at anything else other than a Weber. After having the Summit for all those years I knew I was going to go with a Weber grill and have not been disappointed with the Genesis. I love the smart technology incorporated in the grill and the light in the handle is very useful for cooking after the sun goes down.
A lot of complaints online about the lack of a matching rotisserie for these models. Always having to switch on the temperature gauge is a bit of a hastle.

Nice grill and well built. I bought my first weber 22 years ago and couldn't wear it out still in great shape just wanted to upgrade.

Great grill

I’ve had my new Weber genesis grill for about four months now, and like my previous two Weber grills it’s fantastic. If I could recommend something the extra money for the 9mm stainless grates are well worth the money. They are extremely heavy duty and should never have to be replaced.

A good grill made better

My grill is exposed to year-round west coast coastal conditions. My old Genesis did well considering: 12 year before everything that could rust through did. I'd replaced some lower panels a few years ago, and tubes and other interior parts over time. But they were not made for ready replacement. This is what sets the new series apart.
The new Genesis frame and associated parts are much stouter, better designed, and better connect. It did take awhile to put together, but only because of the well conceived assembly (and the instructions were excellent, though perhaps too much cardboard and styrofoam). Many more parts are stainless, and I can already tell that when some of the powder coated part fail in 10 years or so from now in this marine environment that I'll be able to easily replace them. The searing function's also brilliant.
As a grill, it's amazing. As a smart grill, it's a less amazing. I have trouble keeping it connected to the internet even though it has a strong signal and is sitting on my porch right outside the door. I have never been able to use the app while cooking. I would have saved hundreds if I had just bought the same grill without this functionality.
