I finally had to replace my Genesis 320 after 14 years of perfect service. It had been abused but was still grilling perfect. The casting (lid) had cracked and the wind blew it off the porch and broke the end cap. Anyway I thought I had the perfect grill until I got my new one. This grill is even better, which is understandable. The technology is awesome. I can watch the grill temperature and the probe temperature on my phone while sitting at the dining room table enjoying my salad. The temperature levels are more consistent and easy to control with a little practice. I followed the temperature settings in some of the recipes. They were dead on. Perfect results every time. I love this thing!
Great purchase. I’ve only used it less than a dozen times so far and really like it. The one problem we did have was that upon delivery from the store I noticed that the plastic film that covers the brushed aluminum (side shelves) was still on. When I went to remove it , it would not come off. It was basically glued on. It took my wife and I over 1 1/2 hours and 1/2 a bottle of goo be gone to remove it. Thing is it says on the plastic to remove before assembling. It was assembled before we received it.
The final product is a good grill. The delivery logistics company provided some challenges because I apparently live "on the edge of their delivery zone". It took 4 phone calls to get the grill scheduled for delivery. When it arrived I had to remove the 250+ lb. box on a pallet myself because the (nice) delivery guy was 75 years old. Assembly went smoothly except for a crushed bracket for the side table on the left front leg. Using 3 of 4 bolts seems to be fine at the moment. The protective film on the grill top left a residue when removed that is still noticeable. This is not the case for any of the other protected surfaces. The grill and purchased accessories are now in place and working great so far.
Long time Weber customer and have owned nothing but Weber for 60 years. CONS: My new grill doesn't feel as substantial as my old Genesis that I had for over 15 years. The controls feel different and setting tom medium takes some getting used to. I wish I had not purchased the WIFI capable grill as I am now tethered to an electrical outlet via an extension cord. I wish it had a rechargeable battery instead. The only way I get get a grill temp now is via the readout on the control panel or on my phone. The only other way to get a temp is with an external thermometer that I have to place inside the grill. PROS: The temperature can be maintained via the adjustments to the grill with the controls and holds steady near the desired temp when reached. The heavy duty grates are very nice and the expandable upper rack is a big plus.
I use this grill all year long for cooking almost everything. Burgers, ribs, chicken, fish, vegetables, it does it all with ease! Great price and very well made. Love it!
Used it 1x on low heat. 5 minutes later app says heats super high. Went to check grill and insude was on fire. Couldbt even touch bc it was too hit and knobs were melted
