I am newn to the Weber family. I bought my grill new in the box. The assembly instructions where from the propane model, but I was able to figure it out. I am really enjoying this grill. Everything works as mentioned. The smart grill controls are simple to use and reduces the need to continously check on the grill and food, since this can be done on your mobile device. Setup was easy. I would highly recommend this grill to any and all of my family and friends. I did have to use a higher quality quick disconnect, since the one provided by Weber was mediocre at best.
This is my favorite toy. We have a once a month family birthday gathering , and I use it for all the meat, corn, asparagus, Brisket, burgers, dogs, chicken, pork tenderloins, you name it We have a family gathering of 21 people. The grill is perfect size. Then the next day I baby it by cleaning and polishing
Purchased this grill to replace our old 3-burner SS Genesis, which lasted 18 years in our coastal climate. This design has been thoughtfully improved in nearly every way - moving the controls to the front freed up the table on the right for more usable surface; the sear station is great for steaks and burgers, and the storage cabinet on the left holds all of my cleaning supplies. The electronics and Weber app makes it much easier for me to monitor cooking progress remotely. We will enjoy this grill for many years. My only complaint is a lack of built in lighting. The add-on lights seem a bit kludgy.
Overall, I have found the drill performs really well. I find the grill temp sensor to be accurate and very helpful when cooking delicate meats such as fish. The searing option is invaluable after smoking meat to give it that wonderful texture and grilled finish. The next option is to try the meat temp probs & possibly pickup the pizza flat grill option.
Assembling the grill was made easier by placing all the parts separately on the floor, you will need a LOT of space for this. It took about 2.5 hours with the help of my teenage child. The instructions cover multiple models, so there was some confusion when a particular step covered different instructions based on the model and/or upgrades your grill came with. That said, I've used it 2-3 times a week for about two months now. Outside of standard burgers and steaks, I made a pork roast using the Weber Connect temp probes and it came out perfect. Yesterday I made pizzas on a 16 x 16 steel that I already owned and again had great results. Haven't owned a grill in about 20 years and I'm still learning about the different ways to use this, but the continued, consistent results I am getting are making it easier and easier to find new ways to use it.
