Great grill

Great grill. Like the stainless steel grates. Maintains temperature well and is consistent across entire cooking surface with a minimum number of hot spots. Only regret is that there is no thermometer in the dome lid. Thus have to have Weber connect plugged in to see temperature inside grill. Would like to have both thermometers.

New isn’t better. The EX335 is a bit larger however it’s difficult to control the temperature on this new version. Also- the electronics, sensor probes and the app are not easy to use and not trustworthy- have to use a hand held thermometer to make sure food is cooked. Save your money and get a base model with a thermometer in the cover and you’ll be better off

Can’t see temperature unless plugged in.

The grill itself works great. However, whoever thought it would be a good idea to have to plug it in to get the temperature is out of their mind. Having to have an extension cord run across the patio while cooking just so I can see the temperature is the dumbest design flaw I have ever seen.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear you are disappointed with the design.

An external power bank can also power the Weber Connect module on your Genesis SX-335 Smart Gas Grill instead of plugging it into an outlet. Our Care Team will follow up to ensure we provide you with important information on powering up your grill's module with an auxiliary power input. Please look for an outreach from us soon. Thank you!

Don't buy a *smart* weber.

"Smart" weber is actually exceptionally dumb. To use it, plug it in *constantly* or buy a battery pack which lasts - count them - 9 whole hours before needing recharged. (Because, I suspect, when you turn the BBQ off, it doesn't really go off). No big analog thermometer, so you *must* use the electronic one, which is usually dead. Don't but this. Get one of the old-fashioned and vastly superior Webers instead.

Safety

I love this grill, however if you’re cooking with your phone hooked up to the computer display and get out of range the electronics shut off but the gas doesn’t. This could create a severe safety situation.

Response from weber.comBy Weber GrillsConsumer CareApril 14, 2022
Thank you! We are happy to learn that you love your new grill! We appreciate your feedback and your concern about safety. Safety is also our primary concern for all of our grillers.

We always recommend keeping your grill within sight, and we do not suggest leaving a running grill unattended.

The Weber Connect Smart technology is an additional tool to allow you to prepare and monitor your food, but it is no replacement for supervision.
The Weber Connect hub should be turned off manually along with the grill when you are finished.

As a reminder, the gas should always be turned off at the tank or shut-off valve when a grill is not in use.

We want our grillers to have fun, be safe, and enjoy all of the new features our grills have to offer. Please look for an email outreach from our Support team soon.

Wrong parts

The Genesis grill parts look to be quality workmanship, however the grill shipped with the wrong parts and I could not hook up the side burner, because the main grill assembly was for the unit without side burner. Thus I can't complete the assembly, so I am waiting for support from Weber to resolve it. Can only give two stars for now, waiting for Weber support. Still have unassembled parts in my garage. Had a prior Spirit grill, that was great.

Could be better for the money.

We had a Genesis Grill for many years before this one which has a sear burner and temperature and wi fi panel. This is a nice feature but only will accept two probes. I would have preferred six. I also would have liked if it would run off of household batteries instead of having to buy an a power pack. The accessories are almost expensive as buying a whole new cheap grill. I would have liked to see more stainless steel parts.
