1. The grill was missing the power cord. First time they sent the wrong cord USB?? It took over a month to get the correct cord. 2. On every opening and closing, the lid hits the base on the right side. We have tried to adjust it but no success. We are very disappointed considering what we paid for it. 3. The Connect App tries to download an update but fails every time. 4. The unit is LP and we have it plumbed into our house supply at our lake cabin ie no 20lb tank hooked up. The app continues to send Low Fuel Warnings. Very annoying. There should be a method to turn off the warning.
This grill gets very hot and has great searing capability, even though I'm using natural gas. The consistency of heating is even across the entire cooking surface. I've found that the iPhone app is very helpful in both temperature indication and in setting timers, and it gives accurate data to help ensure items get cooked precisely.
This grill is built very well. Assembly instructions are difficult, even with the BILT app. Not sure why they have to be so minimalist. Also due to that it would be good to include some extra bolts, screws, and plastic wire holders. I have only cooked twice on the grill, but it seems like it takes a bit to preheat the grill without using the sear burner. The cook box is the same size as my old Summit that had 4 burners. Looking forward to doing some more cooks.
The grill works very well. The area that needs to be redesigned is the power for the Connect Module. It should use batteries (D) and/or a rechargeable battery. The current situation is a pain to use. Even the power pack is not good since you should disconnect each time. The grill needs a system that is in an enclosed waterproof portion of the grill and easy to replace or charge.
Good size Sear zone is awesome. Great grill replacing one that is 17 years old. The old one is still in good condition, passed it on to a family member. Weber grills are best investment!!
Heats up faster than my old Genesis Grill-not really happy with probes, had to replace the one that came with the grill, since it “burned up” the second time it was used. Weber did replace it, but it is clear that I will need to buy more of them. do like the electronic temp reading, that is very handy.
