After 20 years of "membershi club" grills that were large, stainless, with extra bells and whistles I finally did the RIGHT thing and bought a Weber Genesis. The differences were immediately clear and justified the choice. First I noticed how much hotter it got the first time firing it up...seemingly 2x. Yhe first time cooking on it, i realized the lack of "hot spots" and it heated evenly, something i didnt get in prior grills. I've used some of the Weber Crafted accessories and they work as advertised. Its nice to have a grill that has a built in flat top grddle, pizza stone, steamer, rotisserie, etc to be able to cook anything at all. The build is solud and, with proper care, i expect it to last many years. Its also worth feeling good about supporting an AMERICAN business that many if us grew up with.
Awesome grill. Large surface area and I was just gifted a rotisserie kit and CRAFTED griddle. Looking forward to trying out those new accessories to roast a bird and to cook potatoes, eggs, pancakes and french toast on the griddle. So far I have used it about a dozen times. I've cleaned the drip tray after a few uses. It was straightforward to remove, clean and re-insert. The porcelain-enameled cast iron grates are great as a non-stick, easy clean surface. The expandable top grate was a game changer when I hosted a backyard BBQ for 20+ people. I could easily fit 2 dozen hot dogs on there while cooking burgers on the main grates. The only issue I have had is a screw hole misalignment on the right side tray, so it is only secured with a single screw at the moment. I will eventually try to brute force the second screw to finish mounting the side tray/table surface. The instructions were unclear about the installation of the struts inside the cabinet. The instruction manual is written for the 3-burner Genesis models with an insert for a couple differences in assembly for the 4-burner Genesis models. The locker is a nice feature but is limited in space and could have been laid out with a more square aspect ratio; it is very deep and narrow which limits is storage utility. Nevertheless, this product has been excellent so far and a pleasure to operate.
