The weather has been atrocious where I live, a very rainy spring, people hereabouts are referring to the sixth month as “Juneuary”. Consequently, the grill has only been used five times. So far, so good; it does what it is designed to do. I upgraded from a three burner Genesis bought new in 1996, primarily to get a better indirect cooking area. Back then, the burners were placed horizontally, so the indirect area was along the back or the front of the grates. Even if only one of the three burners was used, the indirect area was long and skinny; not ideal for some items. Modern grills have the burners arranged front to back, plus, this is a four burner grill with more surface area, so the indirect area is rectangular and can be fairly large if only the far left or right burner is used.
I have only a few minor complaints, one theoretical, two practical. First, as opposed to my older grill, this unit does not have a “full frame”. By frame, I mean a full rigid box structure composed of square tubing. This unit has a rectangular frame at the left and right, but they are held in place by sheet metal panels, on the sides, bottom, and back, as well as the burner box casting. This only theoretical, but the full frame seems like it would be stronger. That said, the actual main box of grill is very rigid, and I don’t think it will be problem.
However, the table work surfaces to the left and right of the main box are a different story. On the older grill, the upper horizontal frame rails extended a bit more than a foot the left and right of the burner box, and supported the work surfaces. Since those extensions were part of the frame, the grill could be safely moved by lifting on those extensions. By contrast, the work surfaces on the E435 are sheet metal stainless steel formed into a box shape with a plastic end cap, which is attached to the frame with four bolts. There’s definitely some flex if the grill is lifted by those shelves, and I’d say that should be avoided. However, this is a far heavier grill than the old model, and I miss the sturdiness of the old design.
Finally, at least one review I read pre-purchase mentioned the rubber cushions attached to lid that contact the burner box had fallen out right away. When I unboxed by unit, one was loose in the box, and the “cone” on the top of cushion was torn off, the other was nowhere to be found. Since all the other hardware and small pieces were packaged in individual sealed bags, I didn’t think much of it until it was fully assembled, and there were no cushions included with those parts. It appears that the lid is shipped with the bumpers installed, and they fell out in shipment. There was only one loose in the shipping carton; I have no idea what happened to the other. It may have fallen off before shipment, or fell out between the flaps of the box. There was also a small gash in the box which may have been due to shipping. Whatever caused it, it did not damage the contents, but I may have been an exit point for the cushion. Since the cushions were apparently a poor fit and fell out in shipment, I saw little point in contacting Weber for replacements. There is a bit of a clunk if the lid is closed without due care, but since my older grill never had those cushions, I don’t miss them. However, the issue does mar what is in most respects a fairly good product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate hearing that a long-time Weber fan is replacing their old Weber with a new one. Thank you for being part of the Weber family!
We will bring your feedback about the body design to our team. We expect the frame to be long-lasting. As for the side tables, we do not recommend using the tables to move the grill, as mentioned in your grill owner's guide. Please use a firm grip on the grill's body frame when transporting the grill from place to place.
We apologize that the lid bumpers were absent on your new grill. That is definitely not normal! Our Support team will make sure to send a replacement under your grill's warranty.
Please look for an email outreach from us soon. Thanks again for being a long-time Weber fan!
Love this grill! Have owned Webber products for over 50 years. At one time had 4 grills. 2 Genesis 3 , gas portable and charcoal portable and out door fire pit. Highly recommend Webber products. I did have a problem with assembly. My assembly instructions were missing pages 13 to 28, but went on line and printed the manual.
I finally needed to replace my 25 year-old Genesis 1000, gifted to me on Father's Day in 1997. I was confident I'd want another Weber, but since much has changed in 25 years I researched many different brands.
I ultimately selected this model and couldn't be happier. Expansive cooking area, incredible heat, and the sear station is the upgrade I didn't even know I needed. Plenty of storage in and on the unit and the additional workspace comes in very handy. Not to mention its beautiful looks.
I use the grill 4-6 times per week. Very pleased with the performance so far and looking forward to many great meals.
The grill works good. Taking a little time to get used to from my old grill cause the burners are lower. Hope it last the 22 years my Napoleon grill lasted. Gave it 3 stars because of the following: 1.) The automated website, with step by step instructions to assists you in assembling the grill was bad. I couldn't get the site to work properly. It kept giving a grill with the assembly instructions that wasn't even close to mine. So ended up using the instruction that came with the grill which were VERY VAGUE. 2.) In the very vague instructions as you start assembling the base it shows that there are yellow dots on one side and base. These two yellow dots were suppose to align the assembly so other parts will fit properly. Will, my grill had the dots put on by a Friday ready to leave worker or, a temp worker or, someone who didn't care, for I had to tear everything apart and flip the base to get everything to fit properly. 3.) The instructions on how to run the igniter wires were hard to figure out and no mention of color coding in the instructions. 4.) Assembling the grill was more difficult then what it should have been. The person who wrote these instructions should assemble a grill as how the instructions were written, not because he knows it goes this way. 5.) I also feel it was overpriced by about $200. I couldn't buy the grill without the side burner, something I'll never will use. The free meat thermometer is useless to any BBQ guy who uses his eyes and juice flow for doneness.

I bought this grill for myself as a retirement present. It is replacing my 16 year old Summit which really is like new. I was planning on getting another Summit, but there really have not been many changes to the grill over the years I owned mine. The new Genesis has so many great features and allows me to do things I just could not do with my old grill. The Weber crafted accessories are fabulous. We have used the Pizza stone, sear grate and griddle. All add a dimension to the grill that just change the way you use it. The griddle lets you make breakfast for a crowd pretty much all at once. No one has to wait for french toast or pancakes since you can make a bunch at a time. The pizza stone lets you make great crafted pies. The only downside has been the rotisserie accessory that just does not seem to fit. Working with Weber now to figure that out. The grill itself is great. The button ignition is so much better than pushing in the knobs and the storage bin on the end is so useful. Holds all of the grill accessories. All in all an outstanding package that I am sure, based on how it is made and how I care for it will last for years to come.
Id love to be able to give this grill a proper rating but I havent been able to use it since buying it almost a month ago. The LP regulator hose is leaking and needs replaced. I spoke with Weber customer service about 3 weeks ago concerning this. They assured me that a new regulator hose would be shipped to me. I still have not received the replacement regulator hose.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

So far, so good. It was missing a tank scale but Weber immediately helped me get that resolved. Also, the foldable upper rack initially laid at an angle, but is designed to lay flat when weight/heat applied. Love it.
