Solid grill as expected by Weber, love the seat zone feature, lots of space , have only had it for a month so let's see how it works out. We use our grill 3-4 times a week. Definitely can get to the hot temps.
So far this grill lives up to the Weber name. My first weber gas grill was a genisis silver purchased in 2003 and still works and looks great. If this grill is anything quality wise like my first one it will be a pleasure to own. I gave my sister a weber grill for a house warming gift several years ago, still works great. My neighbor recently upgraded to a weber as well. So far all my Weber experiences have been positive.
This is my 3rd Weber grill. I am enjoying my Genesis 435 grill. I use it almost every day during the good weather. I like the versatility with the new ability to add accessories like the griddle.
I bought this to replace a 14 year old Genesis that still worked. The new grill works well and gets hotter than the old one. I inadvertantly tested the safety feature in the regulator - it works. Be sure allo burners are in off position when opening tank valve!
The new grill cart seems flimsier than the old grill. Also, the cart has a large opening in the rear just below the firebox. The old grill had metal with slits there. When using the old grill in the rain the inside of the cart stayed dry, With the new grill water gets into all ares inside the cart. I wonder how this will affect cart longevity.
The slide out tray on the old grill was stainless steel. After 14 years of almost daily use when cleaned it looked almost like new. On the new grill Weber seems to have cheapened this part. It now seems to be coated steel. Again, I am concerned with longevity of this part.
Overall the new grill is very good. The 4 star rating reflects the fact that Weber has cheapened some important parts (cart and pull out firebox bottom). Only time will tell if the new Weber holds up as well as the old one did. I suspect that it will not.
