My old reliable Weber Silver C finally aged out after 27 years. :( Terrible timing for my bank account as I had just bought a new Weber Slate a month earlier. I had been looking at the 435 knowing the day was coming soon. Honestly, I told myself there is no way this new Weber would be as well built as my old one. Things seldom are these days. I could not have been more wrong! I fell in love after cooking on it the first time! This Genesis is so well engineered and built. I love how much space I have on this grill. So many more options for indirect grilling or just keeping things warm. I did opt for the black enamel finish. I just didn’t think the stainless would retain its looks as well here in my part of the country as it is so humid here. I should say I did purchase mine as a scratch & dent. It was missing the front handles for the cabinet doors but otherwise perfect, thus I got a great discount. However, I would not hesitate to pay regular price to get this grill.
When the grill was delivered to my home and Im opened the package I found the front and the rear frame damaged. After 6 phone calls to Weber I finally was able to understand the customer service person and get those parts ordered. Yet to find out that the front frame piece was backordered and after 3 weeks is supposed to be deklivered in the next few days. I then poroceedded to inspect the parts that were in numerous separate boxes only to find that a part on the body of the grill was also bent/damaged. After 3 more calls I was able to get that part ordered. After a week or so the I recieve 2 of the pieces but get an email about the front frame piece expected to ship in a few days. To say I'm not happy is an understaement. so I decide to assemble the grill with the damaged front frame piece figuring I'd can swap the part when it arrives. I migh add that thei assembly instructions are very poorly done as well. 3 hiours later I get the grill together, only to find that another part is missing. So after 3 more calls, I get that part ordered. So it's now been 3 weeks and I'm notified that the front frame piece has finally shipped. Bring in northern PA the has quickly changed so that grilling probably won't happen to spring. The only positive thing I can say at this point is that Weber didn't question the issues and did ship the parts at no charge. Which I would have expected. I've always heard how great Weber is and how good their product works. Maybe I'll find out in April but so far I've not been impressed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This grill gets very hot for searing steaks and burgers. Easy to clean. Well constructed. Installed perforated metal panels on the back and both sides to fully enclose the base cabinet to keep critters out. This should be part of the base design of the grill.
Lowes left pieces of plastic and tape inside grill that they should have removed. Assembly of bottom of the unit is not very sturdy. Left side door is uneven. Also unit is from 2018, even though i bought new in 2025.
Grill working great so far. Ignition is failing on one of the burners so i have to turn on the seering burner to ignite it.
