Software Very Confusing/Unexplained Before Install

It has taken me 5 weeks of many trys to connect my Spirit to Weber Connect. Google Store has very little info on how to install software. Went to Weber web site and asked many different phrased questions to make it work. NONE of the answers they gave were even on what I asked! The 20 year old computer wizes's they have should all be retaught that all customers aren't computer nerds and need more up front info before install will work. Like bluetooth has to be turne ON your phone to work install! That another download has to be entered to Google Play BEFORE Google Play can download Weber Connect to your phone. Info like that. After figuring all that out on my own THEN my connection with Weber Connect worked. Sad because Weber could have saved me and others a lot of time and effort by explaining all info involved to download Weber Connect. After all isn't that the reason "we" customers have spent way more money for this grill? The advanced software cooking ability? SAD
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If I could give a ZERO I would but rating system only starts at one! I had a Spirit for 15 years and loved it. Was WAY cheaper than this "so called" smart grill. I have no idea how smart IT IS because I have tried several times since 8/03/2023 (delivery date) to get it connected to Weber Connect so I can use the Revolutionary New Features! When I go on Android Google Store Play it shows, on the pictured grill area, is connected. NOT! DON'T WAIST YOUR MONEY ON THIS "smart" GRILL! Grill like you have been grilling and you will be fine.

I have changed from a charcoal grill to Spirit LP grill. Once up and running have found that I really enjoy the convenience of being able to light the burners and be ready to cook in 15 minutes of pre-heat. I think nothing grilling vegetables as sides, looking forward to grilling fruits for desserts as well. Steaks and burgers come out great with the sear feature. Larger cuts like Tri Tip are great with the thermometer feature. Other great features are the accessible drip pan and grill floor for cleaning and the propane level monitoring either directly or via the App. The App is a great bonus but was able to only set up the BlueTooth connection (but not the WiFi connection as it requires some technical info to pair) which means that the connection drops out in a relatively short distance. Another downside of the App is that the "notification" feature doesn't really "notify" via an alarm but just sends a text to you. I would appreciate something that actually "alerts" you with some type alarm. But all in all I am really enjoying the benefits of a great gas grill.
I’ve been using my Weber grill for 12 years. I finally retires it and sold it. My new Spirit grill with Electronic controls and cast iron grates works wonders with steak and fish.
This grill is awesome! My husband put it together and said it was very easy to do with easy instructions. I got the grill bluetoothed to my phone and the grill connected to WiFi. All super easy to do. The other reviews on this grill were a bit lower but looked like mostly people just struggled with the smart properties. I didn’t have any of those issues. The app is full of recipes where you can have the grill monitor the cooking from your phone. Can’t wait to try that! Grill heats up really fast and the sear function adds a strong boost! The grill grates are even double-sided for different foods. Good quality construction on this grill- the lid is sturdy and heavy; you can feel it when you open the grill. I also really loved the fact that within the Spirit line, you can pick if you want the side burner or not. I never ever use that so I’m glad I could opt out of that and get the sear function instead. This grill has everything I need: solid construction, great heat, technology. I feel like an adult now!
