[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought it would eliminate the need to use the original power cord. I still had to use since this is not powerful enough to charge my laptop after getting a warning alert.

Great when/if it works

If BSOD and blank screens are your thing then this is the product for you. Within months of owning it, my boss and I had nothing but connection issues, updated the firmware and it fixed some of the issues, now we are constantly getting no screens after resuming from sleep mode (even when we do not disconnect the laptop), BSOD when connecting to the dock and resuming from sleep mode.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Absolutely no problems since purchase and installation (about 3 weeks ago. The added bonus is that this plugs into the wall and powers the Computer so I took my Power brick home and left it there. Now I don't have to bother remembering it and carrying it back and forth.
