I always wanted a stand mixer but couldn't afford one until I saw the price of this one. Not only priced extremely well it works like a dream. Well made and easy to use. It is 100 times better than I could have imagined. I am thinking up different recipes every day so I have a reason to use my machine.

The power of the machine does not live up to my expectations. Even when I used it the first time, the power always seemed to be "shot" and takes a while to begin to mix at a consistent pace. Aditionally, the paddle and hook never catch all my dry ingredients: There is always at the bottom of the bowl. I normally need to work in the rest of my ingredients by hand, thus defeating the purpose of the electric mixer.

I love how easy this is to clean! I use it nearly every day. The attachments are easy to clean, easy to put on, and perfect for all of my baking and cooking needs. I have made bread, cinnamon rolls, buttercream frosting, whipped coconut cream, and have made several marinades. I had a hard time making bread weekly since I have little energy, but this wonderful machine has made it so I can make, mix and prepare the things I need with little mixing effort. After looking online, I also found it easy to adjust the height of the mixing tools since it was not reaching the bottom of the bowl. It has become an essential piece of equipment in my kitchen!

Beautiful and sturdy, but it doesn’t mix throughly, it doesn’t reach ingredients in the bottom of the bowl. Kinda disappointment considering the price…

I like many things about this mixer. I like the size and sleekness of the machine. I like the simplicity of the dial and the ease of raising and lowering the head. I like the cord can be pushed into the base for storage (Cuisinart, you should make the plug fit into the base too!) It is quiet, smooth and efficient. I bought it to replace an older Sunbeam Mixmaster I've had for about 40 years - that was starting to thump when I retired it. I have only used the regular mixing wand so far, not the dough hook or the whip. What brought me to three stars instead of more was that the mixing wand doesn't reach to the bottom of the bowl and completely mix stuff. My Christmas cheesecake batter had large lumps that needed to be spatula'd back into the center of the bowl and re-mixed a few times. While easy to do, it still was an unnecessary extra step that engineers should have been able to solve. Tell me why this is so? It should be a simple fix of design.

I was really excited to have a stand mixer, this was my first. I thought it would be just as good as the major competitor brand, seemed heavy and durable. Well, it wasn't. After 6 months of use, a gear stripped and the mixer could no longer spin. I like to have a product that has parts can be easily bought and replaced- searched high and low, couldn't find a replacement gear. I contacted Cuisinart, who at first told me to unplug the mixer and plug it back in...after a few emails and a few weeks, they told me I could ship the mixer back for repairs that could take 2+ months. By this time, I was quite tired of dealing with it and couldn't finish my holiday baking- so I bought a much more durable mixer instead, that has parts available almost anywhere, should something need replacement. I felt as though even if I had my Cuisinart mixer repaired, it still wouldn't hold up over time. It worked well enough when it was functioning, but there are much better options out there for avid bakers.
