I've made 3 batches of cookie dough and a batch of bread dough with this mixer. I liked the performance for the bread dough, but the cookie dough not so much. Instead of "Fluffing" the butter and sugars, it just kind of slapped it to the bottom and sides of the bowl, requiring frequent stops to scrape. Even then I never got the nice fluffy yellow consistency I was looking for. I've used my parent's "well known brand " stand mixer with much better results. I gave it 3 stars because it did do ok for the bread dough.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Be sure to hand stir ingredients because mixer does not stir all of ingredients at the bottom of the bowl thoroughly.
