My 22 year old Cuisinart 5.5 qt stand mixer finally died. I tried several other mixers and eventually decided to replace my mixer with the same model that served me so well for so many years. I bake a lot of bread and needed a machine that could handle it. I love this machine. It is a bit noisy when kneading bread dough for two loaves, but that's not a problem for me. Highly recommend this stand mixer.

Don’t over mix because this mixer is powerful. I love my mixer but be careful not walk off and leave it mixing . It does a great job and I only buy Cuisinart. They are well built products and they last ..

I absolutely love it!! I researched the CA and the KA a lot! I read all the reviews I could find, and asked other peoples’ opinions. I went with the CA and could not be happier! We have a family tradition, and bake Fulare, which is a Portuguese bread, every Easter. We make anywhere from 10 to 30 breads by hand. This year I only made 10 and I used my CA!!! What an easy time!!! I used 7 cups of flour and the wet ingredients. I added the flour to the bowl first and then put the machine on 1, I slowly added the liquid ingredients and then increased the speed to 2. It mixed perfectly! The dough did climb the hook, but it was easy to take it off and continue to mix. If the dough was a bit wet I just added some flour and continue to mix. I never had to take the dough out and mix more by hand it was perfect. It took me no longer than 10 minutes, at the most to get the perfect dough. The 7 cups of flour ( once it was given time to rise) gave me two perfect breads! I made 5 doughs and it probably took me less time and aggravation to do this, than to mix it by hand! I turned the speed up to 3 maybe once during each mix, but just for a couple of seconds. I did not want to heat up the machine. It did get a bit warm on the top, but while I was melting butter and mixing ingredients for the next batch it cooled right off! Now I know I can make it throughout the year, and not worry about dragging out my huge bread box, and mix everything by hand!!! If you have any doubt in your mind between the KA and the CA I would go with the CA, for the cost, the beautiful colors (I love the periwinkle blue color!) and the mixing, it was worth it!! Oh and it never jumped around on the counter, it did make some vibrating noise when I turned it to 3, but wasn’t bad at all!!! Go for it, you will not be disappointed, and happy baking!!!!
I would recommend this to a friend!
