Fantastic Mixer!

I have owned the Cuisinart Precision Master for a couple of months now. I have used it to make cookies, several pizzas, several loaves of bread, and other desserts. It has worked perfectly. I have not had to adjust anything like some people in other reviews have complained about. I am completely satisfied. When making bread dough, the mixer has been extremely stable on my counter. I have seen some reviews that report the mixer walking on the counter. I have not experienced anything of the like. This is one of the best purchases I have made for my kitchen! The only slight concern that I have is that the cover plate for the accessory attachments is made of plastic. It's not a big deal, though.

This mixer was a disappointment. The beater bar did not reach all the way to the bottom, leaving large portions unmixed. We found a way to fix it on our own by adjusting the leveling screws and it was OK. Clearly not as good as our previous mixer of another brand. However, several weeks later the motor broke and we sent it in for warranty service. It is now 10 weeks (seriously!) since we sent it in and it still has not been returned. This has been a very disappointing experience and major let down from Cuisinart

Lifesaver for An Older Cook

I decided to buy a stand mixer because while I still enjoy baking and cooking, I lack the hand and arm strength to mix heavy bread, cake, and cookie doughs by hand or to cut butter into flour with a pastry blender. I did some comparison shopping and liked the reviews I saw on the Cuisinart Precision Master 5.5 Quart mixer. So far, I've been impressed with the power of the mixer for big jobs like blending and kneading dough and cutting butter into flour, and the overall performance of the mixer. I also found a Facebook page dedicated to the Cuisinart stand mixer with recipe and tips. I would suggest that Cuisinart promote the different Facebook pages dedicated to the different Cuisinart applicances - there are some good tips on those pages. For example, someone wrote how disappointed they were in the Precision Master's ability to cream butter and sugar. She was using the flat paddle to do this and was not happy with the results. People on the FB page quickly told her that she should use the whisk instead of the flat paddle to cream butter and sugar and switch to the paddle to incorporate the dry ingredients. I'm glad I saw this tip! I was also very surprised to see that people use the mixer for meatloaf and to shred chicken! Those things are on my list of things to try with this appliance. I've been very pleased with everything I've done with the mixer which includes breads, scones, cookies, and pizza dough. The dough hook is amazing!

Cuisinart mixer needs review by bakers

The first one ordered & received was not usable and returned. I don't think it had any lubrication in the gear head. It made a terrible grinding sound. The second trial was OK but I'm a baker and have been using My Kitchen Aid for 50 years so it was difficult to give any replacement a better rating.
The big problem is the bowl & beaters don't match up well and it tales longer to get dough to come together and it will not make meringue unless there is a large amount to mix because the bowl does not match the beater. It seems well built but has design errors because the designers were not bakers. I also a retired product design engineer & quality assurance director.
I have numerous Cuisinart products and expected a better product.

I was making a 2 loaf bread dough recipe, and the machine was rocking back and forth a lot, then it overheated and wouldn't turn back on. I had just added the last of the flour for the recipe, it mixed the dough for 1 minute and stopped working. Disappointing. I returned it immediately and bought a Bosch instead.

It was time to get a stand mixer

I've been expanding my baking horizons from chocolate chip cookies and muffins to pastry, pizza dough and breads. Bread recipes seemed to assume one had a stand mixer and a dough hook. I made do with a hand mixer with a couple of spiral attachments billed as dough hooks. It worked well enough but took extra effort and sometimes the bread came out too crumbly. So I bought the Cuisinart Stand Mixer. So far I've used it for muffins, bread, pizza dough and chocolate chip cookies. It has made baking easier and more efficient because I can multi-task. My cookies did not come out as well using the stand mixer instead of a blender - a short-cut that works surprisingly well - the dough was drier and less pliable. So, I'll research recipes that specify a stand mixer. My whole wheat multi-grain loaf came out perfectly. It is so much tastier than store bought bread, so I'll aim to always make my own bread. I don't know if that'll amortize the purchase price but I'll still be happy with my Cuisinart Stand Mixer and the goodies it helps me bake.
The bowl is capacious and easy to clean by hand. The mixer is powerful so it handles dough with ease. It is solidly built and stable. If you are researching stand mixers, put this at the top of your list.

I bought this at Christmas. I absolutely love how well built and quiet it is. Great for baking & recipes. Will make your life so much easier. I regret I didn't buy it sooner.

I have a Cuisinart coffee maker and a 14 cup food processor, so I'm accustomed to Cuisinart quality. What sold me in addition to the previous experience with their products was 500 amp motor and large capacity bowl.
Made a batch of cookies the other night. It had no problems at all mixing the dough.
Easy to use, variety of attachments. Apparently has the capacity to grind meat with an additional attachment.
Nice!
