I like the Cuisinart stand mixer. the only comment I have is that for small quantities (For example Eggs), the attachment does not go all the way down to mix properly.

This mixer is a beast! It has done its job exceptionally well so far. It powers through the toughest bread dough without the slightest hesitation. I have no other mixers to compare as this is my first, but I can’t imagine needing anything else unless I were to start a bakery! I would definitely purchase this item again.
To anyone considering purchasing this mixer who hasn’t owned a stand mixer before like myself...go ahead, you won’t be disappointed.

It's a very nice mixer for some family or person who would use it three or four times a month to make light weight items such as cakes or whipped cream. I use a mixer two to three times a week for breads and other doughs. This mixer while it does do the job, is just not a very sturdy appliance, it shakes and rocks on the dough for just a single loaf of bread and I very frequently find myself having to scrape mix down off the sides to get it to incorporate in a timely fashion. It takes noticeably longer to fully knead a batch with this mixer. Like I said it is not bad, it is not really malfunctioning, it's just that I should have bought a heavier duty mixer. I'll probably end up donating this to a thrift store and looking for a more powerful appliance. I bought this because I have had many Cuisinart appliances in the past that I really liked. Cuisinart does make a fine product but in this matter I feel like I may look closer at Kitchen Aid based on several recommendations I have gotten from others.

The 5.5 quart mixer is a decent machine. I use it mainly for Sourdough bread (which is more moist than cookie dough) and the motor seems to strain a bit, making me wonder how long it's going to last. The front cover over the accessory port access keeps falling off. At 5.5 quart I can only make 1 loaf of bread at a time otherwise the dough rides up the hook to where it's attached. Despite what may seem like a negative review, compaired to the overpriced Kitchen-Aid, for the part time baker in the house doing small batches it is a good buy.

I bought a KitchenAid but returned it because it didn't have the tilt head. This mixer works well. I did have to make adjustments to get the beater closer to the bottom of the bowl. When I first used it I didn't realize the beater was high. I could place my fingers under the beaters. After google and youtube, I tried the "dime" method. I did manage to get the beater much closer to the bottom but never could get the adjustment close enough to move the dime. And I don't believe I can adjust anymore because I tried. WHY doesn't the manufacture make those adjustments before the sell and ship them????

I used this about a dozen times and the whole machine started to vibrate and made horrible sounds while using it at a medium speed. I had to send back and am now without a mixer for 6 weeks while they try to fix it.

I had three problems with this mixer. 1. The bowl was so tightly screwed into the base when it arrived that I could not budge it. My husband had to brace it against his hip to get it to move. 2. When I tried to remove the dough hook from the head, it did not work per the directions in the manual. My husband determined that you have to push the attachment up into the head WHILE turning it, to get it to unlock. The manual and quick reference need to be corrected. If it were not for my husband, I would have returned this mixer. 3. The directions for registration are useless. You do NOT take a photo of the “code below” and send it to them. They may be referring to the silver plate on the bottom of the base, but it is never specified. I went to the online URL and typed in the data. The model # is on the box in one place. For the unit #, I used the 7-digit number on the silver plate on the bottom of the base, and it was accepted. NOW I love using it! I read the reviews on how dry ingredients stay in the bottom of the mixer bowl, so I first placed the yeast, sugar & warm water to proof, then the remaining WET ingredients, in the mixer bowl on speed # 4. I then used the splash guard and pour spout [both are excellent] to slowly add the dry ingredients while mixing on speed 2. I increased the speed to 4 and never needed to scrape the bowl. The yeast dough for my English Hot Crossed Buns [which included 1 ½ c of candied fruit] and Feno [Egyptian hoagie rolls] were kneaded to perfection using the dough hook. I then used the flat blade to mix a large batch of a thick Fruit & Nut Oatmeal Cookie dough. I again beat all of the wet ingredients [butter, eggs, vanilla] & sugar on #4, then added the dry ingredients [including the candied fruits which I had mixed with 2 T flour to avoid clumping] via the pour spout. The dough was evenly & thoroughly mixed without the need for bowl scraping. The mixer is sturdy and lovely; the Robin’s Egg color is gorgeous. The splash guard and pour spout are thick, heavy plastic and clear for viewing the bowl contents. The mixer does not move on the counter even during high speeds. The bowl is strong; I love the handle. It is very easy to use without the manual once you know how to add/remove the bowl and accessories. It is very quiet.
