This Cuisinart stand mixer was a disappointment, as the mixer could not effectively mix. The beater attachment was too far from the bowl. In the previous model that had a timer, the user could adjust the height of the beater attachment. This model did not have that option. The stand mixer was beautiful with the Caskata design, but not effective. I sent the unit back for a refund.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I finally broke down and purchased a stand mixer after several decades of using only a hand mixer. I grew up with a stand mixer but, after getting married couldn’t afford one. Stand mixers are so much easier when multi tasking in the kitchen. And Cuisinart is a brand I trust to be efficient, long lasting, and priced right. I have several Cuisinart small appliances in my kitchen. Other brands I’ve tried that cost more, don’t seem to last as long before having to replace. Or, I can get Cuisinart for less money that lasts as long or longer than the higher priced item. I’m loving the ease of this stand mixer. Kneading bread is a breeze with the dough hook and takes the strain out of making food my family loves! Cleanup is easy and 12 speed settings provide more options than I need. The 5.5 quart bowl is more than enough for what I need. I’m planning to purchase additional attachments in the future. I highly recommend this product and all Cuisinart products!

Powerful mixer, however, the paddle doesn’t reach the bottom of the bowl, thus it doesn’t cream butter very well. Different paddles, longer, with flex sides should be available for this mixer. I have found that it works best with a 4.5 bowl from a different brand, and with a flex paddle made for the other brand.
I do love the very slow start, as it prevents dry ingredients from flying.
Personally, I have created the perfect mixer for me!

This stand mixer is disappointing.
The beaters don’t reach far enough into the bowl to mix ingredients properly. Tried adjusting the screw that is to correct this problem but it did nothing. In fact the screw was next to impossible to turn. After struggling to turn it, the beater still did not reach far enough into the bowl. Back to using my hand mixer.
