I've used this mixer to mix cake batter and to whip heavy whipping cream. It did a great job with both, especially the heavy cream. I did so and scrape down the bowl once with the cake batter, but I had to do that with my KitchenAid mixer. I sold that mixer after owning it many many years because it weighed 24 pounds and I'm now in my 70's. So far I am very happy with my Cuisinart.

I found it very difficult to scrape the bowl. There was not enough room without having to stop mixer and raise the head. I think the bowl should be larger.
