Fun to Use

I was given one of these Monoculars, for free, in order to write a review on it. Overall, it's very nice. Our apartment backs up to the woods and we've spent a lot of times sitting on the balcony looking out at nature. The lens stability when zoomed in is great! No shaking from my hand whatsoever.
The only thing that was a little "off" was the button placement. They aren't the easiest buttons to press without adjusting my grip on the device. I'm naturally fairly clumsy, so when I move my thumb to take pictures or videos, I'm afraid I might drop the Monocular. I haven't yet, but it's a concern.
I have not pulled any pics/videos yet, so I'm not sure to the quality of the digital captures.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I received this product for free in order to test it. overall the product was fun to use, but it was lacking some things that should have been standard. The device came packages with an Anker brand charger and separate cable. I'm happy to have another cable and charger, but would have rather seen a leash and lens cover or bag. We ended up using a glasses case to keep it safe.
Set up was easy and we were able to connect to the mobile app easily. I do wish the button weren't placed so closely as operation wasn't the easiest with your eye to the lens.
The 100x and 400x zooms took decent photos, but the 800x required optimal lighting in order to get a non-grainy pic. overall this is a fun gadget that is better for spotting then actual photography.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Decent but could use improvements

I received this free product for my honest review.
I really wanted to love this product but it was mediocre at best.
The pocket size design is great, but the button placements are awkward when holding it. Not intuitive and always need to look and reposition which doesn't allow for smooth video. Having different setting navigation buttons would be much more helpful with arrows and select/enter.

Overall video quality is pretty good but uploads to mobile device take a long time and seem to only be able to do one at a time.
Picture quality is horrible. Similar to a first generation iphone in my opinion.
Is night vision too much to ask for? Even with a higher price point I think that option is crucial.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Fun Times!

I was lucky enough to be sent a free sample in exchange for writing an honest review. Overall I really like this product and think for the right person it would be perfect. For me, I took it to a concert that I went to as well as watching my kids playing sports. It was cool to see them across the field and be able to snap some good action photos. Speaking of my kids, they like to look through it at different birds and bugs outside. They think it is the coolest thing to see everything so close. The best thing about the product is that is it super light and compact that you can throw it in your purse and use it anytime, anywhere. I am not saying the pictures are the best ever but they are certainly clear enough for the long range it provides. I would highly recommend if you are on the market for something like this.

Clear and fantastic Zoom ability

I received a free sample of the Canon Zoom Digital Monocular in white to review. The packing was neat and clean and very easy to unpack. The directions were very easy to follow for set up. I was pleasantly surprised on the zoom and how clear it appeared. I used the monocular at a recent soccer game and had a very clear view of the players up close. It was a little hard to get used to the small view finder but once I felt comfortable it was very user friendly. I would not use the monocular for every day use but in certain situations it is fantastic.

Compact!

I recently received a free sample of the Zoom Digital Monocular to use and review. Overall, I enjoyed using the product, however found a few things challenging. To start, the menu system to set up the device is done on screen, meaning that you have to be looking through the monocular while navigating the buttons on the outside. As most cameras have a display or a flip out screen, I found this a bit difficult at first. The size is nice and compact, although I would have liked it to have some sort of lens protector. The device paired easily with my iPhone and after using it a few times seemed much more comfortable to navigate through the different options. I was able to get a great photo of my dog playing off in the distance on a hike. While I enjoyed using the monocular, I guess I still fail to see the advantage that it brings over just using a traditional camera with zoom other than its compact size, and I personally would choose more options over compactness.

I received this monocular for free to sample/test so had not studied up on it prior to using it for the first time and have not used one in the past.
First, the things that I really liked about this is that it is light, small so easy to fit in purse or fanny pack if on a walk. Feels great in my hand and the controls (top and bottom) are situated intuitively which was helpful.
Digital stills were decent quality in some of the zoom-ins but not in others. The images were stable.
The get started instructions weren't super clear so it took a minute to get up and running. Also, VERY minor but the charging cord was black and the brick was white which is obviously no big deal but not what one would expect when opening a new product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This Monocular is so cool. I thought I would mainly use it for bird watching (which it is great for). The fact that it is a camera and video recorder too is icing on the cake. I absolutely love it. Whether observing nature or getting close-ups at the kids games this unit is terrific!
