[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] ThinkPad P1 is a powerful station but slim and lite. I have a previous generation and am happy to buy a Gen 4.
I received the Laptop and while I was setting it up it will reboot and big spark comes from the fan area between the LCD and main body. sent back for repair
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thinkpad P1 is Very Powerful and Reliable. They are solid, well designed and hold up well under heavy use. Would recommend to anyone.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The laptop, when plugged into the Lenovo dock ($300+), requires the escape button to be pressed before starting windows and outputting any images to whatever external monitors may be connected. This means that the laptop cannot be turned on easily with the lid closed. So far, my workaround is to continuously press escape on the external keyboard and to turn my monitors on and off until the log-in screen appears. This is a very clumsy requirement and it undoes all of the quick startup features that have been introduced. Its not a great experience starting each workday with an obstacle. If this was fixed, this laptop would get an easy 5/5 stars from me.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
