Seamless transition!

Hinge broke after 5 months

Bought Idea Pad 5 in May 2021. Five months later the screen hinge broke making it impossible to close the lid. Laptop never moved from the original desk location during the 5 months of use. TERRIBLE manufacturing or design. Now I have to send laptop to Houston Texas so they can say it is broken and can't be fixed. Be careful, this problem might very well be a design issue since it is certainly not a use problem.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great laptop but poor quality/no company backing.

I bought this 10 months ago. I have really enjoyed it's features. While I rarely use the touch screen feature, it has come in handy a few times. For my usage, it has been fast, and the battery lasts much longer than my previous laptops. I now have a partically new laptop, that will not close. When opening it yeatersay, I heard a cracking noise. On checking it out, I found that the screen had separated from the frame on the lower right corner. The system still works fine, I just can't use it as a laptop. (Can no longer close it, or transport it). Lenovo informed me that since it is a damage problem, it is not covered by their warranty. I.e., it is my problem, not theirs, even though nothing has ever been spilled on it, and it has not been dropped or 'man handled'. Due to Covid-19, we have not traveled at all, so the laptop has never left the house since I bought it. So, as I know that it wasn't any type of damage on my part, ti comes down to por quality hinges, and connecting parts.

a great laptop for the money

a great all-around type of platform. not sure how it holds up against gaming but seems to do fine under different types of other programs. fingerprint reader is spot on and the built in camera cover is a nice plus.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Difficult to use

Keys are too low
Trackpad too difficult to press - frustrating
Numeric pad keys are small so that they fit but functionally difficult to use - lots of typos
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The hinge broke. Custom service was very rude

The lid couldn't be closed after a year of use. It had two years of warranty. Spent over 40 minutes to call custom service and was told that it was not covered!!! She hang off the phone and close the case without even mentioned it. I found from the website the case was closed. I had owned more than 6 Lenovo both for work and home use. Never will buy it again.
