Poor Quality and Lack of Timely Customer Service

This review has to do with both the product as well as the customer service interaction to correct a problem. The dishwasher has been in the home for just over 1 week. The unit seemed to be operating fine at first and was thoroughly cleaning the dishes. One night, the control panel stopped functioning mid-cycle and the dishwasher has been dead ever since. Customer service was contacted and their remedy was a service appointment that was almost 4 weeks out. The only other remedy offered was a 15% discount on a new product. The questions was asked about a replacement and the response was that for that to happen, a service tech would need to come out and evaluate the problem first before a replacement could be offered. This would be the same appointment that is 4 weeks out. That kind of time frame for service on any product let alone a product that is a week old is unacceptable and shows a disconnect between manufacturer and consumer. Not everyone may have this same opinion, but I expect better.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am on my 3rd KitchenAid dishwasher since living in this house. It is the best yet with some new features. My glassware was getting cloudy but it seems they are clearer by the load.
