Better than without it, but could be a bit softer.

I'm using it on my backpacks with the capture and sometimes I wished it would be more cushioned, but it's still better than capture only!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great but a better backpack version would be nice.

I have two of these. I attached one on my Peak Design backpack strap permanently and use the other on my belt when not using the backpack. I love the fact that it holds the camera securely and takes a load off my neck. However, I find that although the Pro Pad on my backpack is better than not using the Pro Pad, I still feel some discomfort when walking with the weight of the camera/lens on my chest. Would be better if there was a version that had a wider, more cushioned design for backpack use.
In conjunction with the Capture Clip, this has transformed my street, event and reportage shooting. I don't usually wear a camera backpack on these outings, so previously slung two cameras, which could often be inconvenient. Now I can sling one and clip the other to my belt.
It felt a lot more secure when shooting among crowds on London's South Bank before Christmas.
It can take a deal of practice to unclip a camera - especially one-handed - and to find the best location on the belt. After experimentation, I found the left side worked best, as I can release the safety with my left thump while gripping the camera in my right (dominant) hand. Depending on one's build, dexterity, clothing and camera/lens combination, one might find it blocks a trouser pocket (mine does); but that's a minor thing, and it protects anything of value in that pocket.
Again, depending on one's build and belt positioning, the rigid top can dig into your rib area when seated; and of course, top clothes (waterproofs, puffers, fleeces, etc.) will greatly inhibit its advantages, but it's still a worthwhile purchase. I will be packing it for my trip to Arizona and Florida, and wish I'd bought it earlier this year - when I have been photographing a "Year in the Life" of a local attraction.
