Most comfortable
on March 11, 2019

I have been a client of PEAK for a few years. My first strap was the first leash that they designed and I still have it and use it. But as the years have gone by, my equipment has got a bit heavier and I was ready to upgrade to the SLIDE. I ordered two (both my husband and I are photographers) and it has been an awesome addition to our daily gear. It is so comfortable and most important, the way it is designed, it stays in place without turning around or getting stock. Plus the anchors are upgraded too. We added one more anchor to the tripod mount and it works great when we use longer lenses or shooting vertical. Most comfortable strap we have used in the last 15 years!

Greatly improved
on July 14, 2019

I have just had my 2016 Slide replaced under your lifetime warranty scheme. I must say the new Slide is an improvement especially the "sticky" side which is now ribbed with silicone rather that the strips that were used previously. I would have given it 5 stars but I don't like the adjustment for length is not as slick as with the original version being at the rear rather than in front. Hopefully I'll get used to it. The Peak Design support staff have been really helpful too and should be congratulated.
And it came to the UK all the way from California.

Easy to use

well made , sturdy to carry my A9 plus my 70-200 across my body. One small issue though. I am 6foot 5 inches ....could be a litle bit longer ( 2 or 3 inches will be enough for extra tall people)

Two issues
on September 18, 2019

I would give this 5 stars, but I had one issue and it may have been user error, but there two things I would like see improved. I used the tripod mount feature to connect both ends of the strap and this causes two problems. First (and the worse of the two) is that it came unscrewed and my camera dropped to the ground. It was from waste high and I was lucky that I received no damage. And second, because of using that mount I am unable to quickly switch to a tripod mounting bracket.
The good part of the strap is that it does as advertised for ease of adjusting and pulling the camera up for a shot or to keep it in place by simply flipping the strap over to the gripping side.
I have simply decided not to use the provided addon to connect to the tripod mount - it is not worth the risk of damaging my camera and hinder my ability to use a tripod.

Brilliant but could be 3 inches longer

As a backpack hiker, it's really comfortable, and pairs perfectly with a backpack clip for hauling a DSLR across the Grand Canyon. You're never just holding your camera, there's always something supporting it.
Mild quibbles:
* Tendency to slowly slide over the course of a day with a zoom lens on.
* As a 6'5" person who's paranoid about dropping his camera, I wish it was 3-6 inches longer so I could keep it around my neck and put it in the belt holster at the same time.

Comfortable, sturdy, and easy-to-use strap (and good customer service)
on July 9, 2020

I purchased the previous version of the strap where the black non-slip material started melting off and smearing on the strap and my clothes. I contacted Peak Design, who provided me the new version with this issue resolved at no charge. I haven't used it for very long so can't say if that particular issue is resolved, but the new non-slip material does seem to be more solid. The strap itself is easy and smooth to adjust, and comfortable and sturdy. My only gripe is that it does gradually slip over time, which is expected, but still leaves me wishing that there was a better mechanism to lock it at a particular length.

Excellent, but a little too short for me
on August 3, 2020

I really want to gush about this strap. It is excellent in terms of quality and ease of use. My only complaint is that it is a little too short for me to use cross body. I am tall. 6'4" and it sits a little too high on my hip when I use it cross-body. I wish it was just a touch longer and it would get 5 stars from me.

Great comfort

Recently got to use the scrap for the first time over a few days of bird watching using my heavy lens & camera. I can't believe the comfort of this scrap. I was able carry it over one shoulder and under the opposite arm. I didn't have to change this configuration like I did with other scraps and just have it around my neck while taking shots. It easily went back into the carrying position when I was walking. The anchor links make easy to change the from my lens mount to the camera when I want to use a smaller lens.
