I had been suffering with my original strap and then bought a generic cross body strap that made my camera heavier and more cumbersome. I have been in the market for the past several months for what I thought was impossible, a simple and elegant strap that looks and feels good. The Slide strap not only met but blew my expectations out of the water, and I can't wait for my next adventure to really put it to the test! The way it attaches to the camera body (and the options they give you) are dead simple but are insanely secure, no added weight to the camera body and the quick release to change your carry config is a godsend. Can't recommend this enough, you won't be disappointed!

Good quality, but not as special as I'd hoped

After reading and seeing so many positive reviews for the Peak Slide, I bought one. Honestly, I was disappointed. It is incredibly well made, but I don't see the point in it. It's bulky and inflexible and hard to store. I like to wrap the strap around the camera/lens and stick it in a bag - you can't do this with the Peak Slide. The padding means it won't scrunch or roll up nicely, and the metal bits scratch the camera if you store it with it. It's also no wider than the strap that came with my camera, so no more comfortable on a long hike, for example. The quick-release bits are great (although I much prefer the SmallRig ones), but they can be bought separately and used with any old strap - which is what I recommend. Overall, it's over-engineered and largely unnecessary, but it may suit your needs perfectly. Just not mine!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Yes this camera strap is expensive but with the Peak Design quick release anchor link you get two in one. Personal the Slide is a good size for my full frame camera but feels a little on the large size for my film camera.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I boughtvthe peak design slide as I like the idea of easily removing the strap from the anchors when I'm on the tripod or at home and don't need the strap fitted , sometimes the original strap gets in the way.
I love the peak design strap , it's fabulously user friendly , easy to adjust , easy to attach and detach from the camera... such a lovely bit of kit .

Game changer compared to standard camera strap

I was advised to get a better strap on a day with a wildlife photographer and what a difference it makes. The slide is effortless to bring up to a shooting position and so easy to change fitting points when I am using a large zoom lens. Highly recommend.

I'm a location photographer. I need gear that is reliable, fast, comfortable, & fits seamlessly into my work style. No matter if I'm in an event venue, aboard a sailboat, on a hiking trail, or shooting on city streets, the Peak Design Slide provides truly reliable service, is quick to adjust or even remove, and allows me to carry camera's for hours on end without sore shoulders or neck. I bought my first Slide years ago and, since, I've been swapping out all my other straps for Slides. In fact, I just bought a new one for my R5. The Slide has become an indispensable part of my kit.
Extra bonus: Peak Design's service has been simply outstanding. Shortly after I bought my first Slide, they reported the discovery of a batch of anchors that were wearing out prematurely. No matter if mine had yet done so or not, they replaced all of my anchors immediately. Most companies, I suspect, would have swept the issue under the rug, not said or done a thing, and maybe even denied a manufacturing defect if challenged. Instead, Peak Design contacted me before I was even aware there had been a problem. This level of transparency & pro-active remediation sealed the deal for me: Peak Design is my top strap recommendation to fellow photographers & my students. Choose with confidence the one that best suits your shooting style.
Other than being a customer, I have no other relationship with Peak Design. This review is a reflection of my direct experiences with this product.
