Packed well and shipped quickly. Well made and crafted steel griddle that fits perfectly in my Weber genesis 435 grill. Easy to follow instructions that made seasoning/ protecting the steel with baking on vegetable oil. Frying meat and or vegetables are easy. Just made bacon& eggs with pancakes. Highly recommended.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought this last year and always cleaned before and after use per the instructions and the griddle always develops rust. It’s to the point where I don’t feel safe using it anymore. I would not recommend purchasing this.

Rust and more rust

Love Weber products, but this griddle just keeps rusting, I've seasoned it according to instructions, cleaned properly, re-oiled (seasoned) put away dry in covered grill, go to use it and its showing rust again, Maybe I hit a bad production run, but I'm back to using a cast iron skillet on top of grill.

I was sent a USED griddle slathered in oil and covered with scratches. The oil soaked through the box and when i opened the box the oil went onto my floor and my clothes. Clothes are ruined due to oil stains. I find this atrocious.

Thank you for your feedback. The oil inside the packaging of our Weber Crafted Griddle is the manufacturing oil that helps keep the griddle from rusting. We're sorry to hear it spilled on the floor and your clothes. Your satisfaction is important to us. We want to make this right. Please look for an outreach email from our Care Team soon. Thank you!

Owned just a few weeks. Seasoned as instructed. Covered grill between uses. Went to use the other day and griddle is totally rusted! I was shocked and disappointed! Even applied grapeseed oil to griddle after the two times I used it!

Thank you for your feedback. So sorry to hear about the corrosion on your Weber Crafted griddle. We are here to help. Carbon Steel is very susceptible to corrosion and seasoning is good for helping to lessen this risk, but for longer periods of non use or storage, the flat top griddle requires extra protection to ensure it is well protected. If the griddle is not being used on a weekly basis, we recommend storing it inside and keeping it dry to prevent excess corrosion. Please see this article with instructions on how to deep-clean and re-season your griddle: https://consumer-care.weber.com/s/article/My-griddle-is-rusting-How-do-I-clean-it-1706747678961?language=en_US

WEBER CRAFTED Flat Top Griddle – 2022 GENESIS

The flat top rusted within a week of receiving it. The quality is poor and I do not recommend purchasing. I contacted customer service to advise of the rust and they stated it is because of the state that I live in. I am extremely disappointed and will not buy a Weber accessory again.

Thank you for your feedback. We understand that our Weber fans expect the best from us, which is why we hold ourselves to the highest standard of performance and quality. The Weber CRAFTED Flat Top Griddle is one of our favorite new products and we want to help you get the most out of your versatile new accessory.

Seasoning your griddle on front, back and all sides is required for performance and protection before you smash your first burger or flip your first pancake, but it can also be refurbished through proper care and seasoning. This will make it more durable and help your food slide easily off the surface.

A seasoned griddle is dark black from edge to edge. To achieve this, season your griddle at least 3 times before use. Here's how:

The griddle has been coated with a food-grade mineral oil for protection. This oil is not to be used for seasoning. Open the bag containing your Griddle over a waste bin. Dispose of the bag and then transfer the griddle to your sink.

Hand wash your griddle in warm, soapy water and scrub vigorously with a nylon brush or soft sponge just before the seasoning process. Thoroughly dry.

Note: This will be the ONLY TIME you use soap and water on your griddle.

Warning: Do not burn off the mineral oil.

Place your Weber CRAFTED Frame Kit in your grill and preheat your grill with the lid closed to 400-500 F.

Use a low lint paper towel or cotton cloth to apply about 1 Tablespoon of a neutral oil over all the surfaces (top, sides and bottom) of the griddle. Then wipe off any excess oil so it appears dry. Excess oil will not season properly.

Using heat-resistant gloves or mitts, place the griddle into the hot grill, close the lid, and allow it to heat up for 30 minutes. The surface will get start to darken and get smokey.

Use a set of grill tongs to hold a paper towel, then use the towel to wipe any uneven spots or drips of oil on the griddle.

When the smoking has stopped, your griddle now has 1 coat of seasoning. Repeat steps 3-6, two (2) more times in order to build the seasoning, allowing the griddle to completely cool down between applications.

It is equally important to perform a little clean-up and aftercare to keep your griddle in tip-top condition. After the grill has been turned off, but while the griddle is still warm, pour a little water on the surface and use a metal spatula or scraper to loosen and clean off food residue. Then after thoroughly dry, use grill tongs to wipe an oiled paper towel over the entire surface of the griddle to protect it until next time.

Please see this link for our instructional video which illustrates the instructions above:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2xdXgTOU-YQ

Even if your Weber CRAFTED Flat Top Griddle has begun to rust, you can get it looking like new by following the below rust removal protocol. This product is built to last; it just needs a little love.

Use a steel scouring pad or metal griddle scraper / spatula to remove any debris and surface rust.

For stubborn rust spots, heating the griddle in grill to medium heat and applying small amounts of water while scraping may be necessary. The steam will help lift more debris; you want to eliminate all signs of red rust from all surfaces. You will want to preheat it with the side up that you are focused on refurbishing. Use caution while handling while it's warm.

Rinse griddle with water and wipe with paper towel in tongs (if hot) to remove any remaining signs of red coloring or debris.

Thoroughly dry and immediately apply a thin layer of a neutral oil (canola, vegetable or grapeseed) on all parts of griddle to help prevent rust from quickly forming. Failure to thoroughly dry griddle before applying oil can result in additional corrosion.

Follow the complete seasoning process at least 3 times as recommended to reach optimal protection. Be sure to season all surfaces: front, back, and all sides.

We apologize that you did not receive the information you needed when you reached out to our Support team. That is not the experience we want for a valued Weber fan like yourself! We will reach out to you again to provide assistance and make sure you are satisfied. Thank you!
